If your computer fried or you somehow got stuck somewhere without any computers, how long could you survive without going crazy? I personally think 2-3 days if I was currently on a job (I do lots of online work that requires a lot of maintenance and attention), but I wouldn't really care otherwise.

I have to be away from my computer every week from Friday night to Sunday night or Friday noon til Sunday night, and I just fiddle wirh my hands. I go stay with my mom during that time and she hates it for me to be on the computer. My daughter also wants me to babysit during the day all week which I do, but she doesn't want me to be on the computer either. I am trying to earn a living on the internet but all of this makes it almost impossible. But do you know that they are always asking how my income is. I kindof feel like saying, uh duh, it is not to grand!

Yeah I understand what you feel, with my baby around it makes me impossible to sit in the computer so I make sure I feed her, bath her and make her to sleep before I sit before the computer. It's funny how they ask you about the income...Don't worry...you'll be fine..enjoy your time with your grandkids...Take care.

I'm not sure I understood what came after you talking about your computer's monthly problem. But I do understand your anxiety about being without your computer.

in today's life i think computer has encroached in our life like anything. a lot of things that we do in our life are with the help of computers and so i guess it will be difficult to live normally without it now a days. few people may think otherwise and they may have good reasons. but those who are use to it will feel the need. but yes, when i go for vacations and all, it feels nice to be out of touch from the world and enjoy a private moment and peaceful time.

Computer has changed our lifestyles drastically. Many suffer withdrawal symptoms similar to substance addictions if they are unable to log in to the net for one or two days especially those who were born in the computer era. I would not go lunatic if I don't log in to the computer as I have lived without computer more than half of my life but I do feel there is something missing in my daily life if I am devoid of the use of computer.

Yeah. I actually don't miss the computer at all when I'm not on a job; but I hate to seem uncooperative or dishonest to the people that I work with online, when its so easy to scam people online, and so hard to gain trust online.

The longest I have been without my computer is has been 9 weeks when it was being fixed! Luckily I could use the computers where I work so I could do my work on the computer when I was on my breaks! The longest I have been without using a computer is 3 days! That happened last summer when my sister was married! There was no computer access at my sister and her new husband's cabin! It was hard but I was happy that I can survive without a computer, when I have to!

Having a work with computers it's impossible to me not having a PC handy at least for a couple of hours and at least to do my job. From my personal life, I have experienced the failure of my old computer power supply 2 years ago, leaving me without any computer of my own for more than a week until I have to bought and replace with a new one. Even though that was annoying to have no PC at all, I lived though it without any major problem, without falling crazy or anything. I just find some new things to do in the meantime.

Personally I think I could only go without the computer for maybe a day. Probably not even that long because then I'm missing what I normally do. For example; I love playing Farmville on facebook and I would miss that erribly. My daughter is the same way but she can go without it for a day. After that day though she goes insane. When her lap top had to get fixed she was without it for the weekend and she was begging for a computer. The men can go without it and they could care less if the computer is there or not lol.

That's a very hard situation, I cannot go without a computer more than a day. Everything I do is from the computer, so I'll make sure I carry my Laptop with me all the time. I recently gave birth to a baby girl and yes I did go 4 to 7 days without computer with me, that was really hard and boring but yet enjoyed every moment with my newborn baby. :)

I enjoy my time spent on the computer. I could probably last a few days without it. After that all i would be able to do is obsess about checking my emails and surfing the sites i like to participate on.

Ya without computer I feel lonely and useless. My desktop completes me. I am useless without it. IT makes me more creative , innovative and useful. As others said social networking sites are to "compulsory". Without them i am not able to know about any news from my friends. So I could survive till I don't know I am away from my comp. :)
