What do you think about the gas prices?

I think it is outrageous. I know it is probably higher elsewhere. But it is 3.25 or more here in Anderson,SC. It is getting to the point where you can only go when you need to. I have to go to Belton to pick up my granddaughters at school and to the store for groceries(once a week). But other than that we are having to limit places we go to. We just cannot afford to go anywhere.

I hate the fact that gas keeps going up. I live in Miami, Florida and the cheapest is at about $3.45 right now! It is really hard for me because I have about a 45 minute to drive to work each day so normally I fill up my tank about twice a week. I just finished paying off my car but now I am spending extra money in gas. Before my tank would be full with about $32 now it takes about $40 to fill up. I hope it goes down soon!

I agree.I hope it goes down soon, also.I'm luckier than most,I don't work anymore.I keep my granddaughters after school until my daughter gets off work at 6.I do have a 30 minute drive to go get them at school, then another 30 minutes back home.I only put gas in when I have too.And no more than I have too. Can't afford to,it's just too expensive.

The gas prices are outrageous but at least for a week they shouldnt be going up much higher then they are now sine we have oil in stock in the united states and the government said it wouldnt be necessarry to have the high gas prices right now until we do run out of gas. I also wont be doing much either when the gas prices go over 3.50 a gallon and its more than milk and just really crazy. I donteven know who can afford these prices except for the rich in the world because us middle class people will be pushing it just to get to the grocery store.

I completely agree with you.Sometimes just getting to the store is more than i can afford.Even if they kept it high, leave it at 1 price and leave it alone for awhile. They change it daily. That makes it worse. You never know what it's going to be on a daily basis.

Americans are probably paying the lowest prices for gas when you compare them with the rest of the world. Of course, YOU relate what you are paying to what you have paid in the past and, perhaps, to the percentage of your cost of living. MOST of the rest of the world is paying two or three times what you are paying and, as a percentage of our total income, probably MUCH more than that. On MyLot and other forums I see Americans complain about the cost of gas far more than I see people from other countries (where gas costs a great deal more). Is it something to do with Americans, that they think they have a God-given right to use more gas than anyone else? Why do you guys have to drive cars which are simply wasteful? Nearly every other country has come to terms with the cost of fuel and its impact on the environment. Americans, it seems, still live in a world where fossil fuel is unlimited and they have a RIGHT to drive as far as they want, when they want! Quit belly-aching! YOU are the ones who are driving this planet into oblivion!

I'm not belly aching, just stating a fact. And I'm sure it is higher elsewhere. And I'm sure people in other in other places still complain to a point about the gas. There's nothing you can do about it, but complain. We will get by,we always do.And I am relating to my cost of living.I live on a fixed income and with the price of gas,it cuts down on some much needed trips. Not everyone drives as they want or when they want.As far as driving cars that are wasteful,we drive what we have in America and can afford.

I think they are too high..but lucky for me I don't have far to go to drive to work and only ocassionally go out of town...Usually to my sons which is only 20 miles from here....so that's not too bad.

That's good. As of right now,my main place to go is to pick up granddaughters at school(about 30 min from my house)and to the grocery store if I need to(about 10 min away).Just lucky I live close to places I have to go.There are others out there that have further to go.And I know it has got to get expensive. But what can you do?Go where you need and stay home the rest of the time.I have 1 daughter that lives about 10 min away ans the other one lives about 30 min away.My son son in law works in NC and has to drive it every day.So he drives 3 hours to work and then 3 hours back home.Glad I don't have to do that.

You are right there, movement is limited by the price of gas. We cannot just have a joy ride thinking that it is not a thing of joy because of the disturbing price of gas. We must be very calculating in every movement that we make as to conserve this precious commodity.

What makes it so bad is that they think they are gonna make money off of the prices being higher. And yes they will get it off of the people who have to go work and don't have no choice but to pay it. But what about the other people who just want to go for a ride and enjoy the scenery or go shopping. The high prices hurt stores also,at least in mu opinion. Because if gas is too high, you cut your trips and don't go for splurges. Why because all of your extra money has to go for gas. My daughter thinks it will hit 5.00 soon.I wouldn't doubt it.But that just means stores will get less and less of my money. If I could find a store online for my groceries,I would even do that. But there are none in Anderson.

It is $3.29 here. It is awful that you have to stay home because of gas. It limits your life. It limits mine too. Sigh

I know it's sad. But we will deal with it,I guess. We always do.It goes up and down.
