And to top it all, "Toy Story 3" which was created by many Filipino animators, got several nominations including Best Picture.. Good Luck to all Talented Filipinos out there.. you give us hope!

Oh it is such a wonderful feeling when Filipinos are recognized for their efforts. Not only in the Oscars but also in many other award giving bodies. This just goes to show how talented our "lahi" (race) is. We do well in almost all fields our kababayans/ fellow countrymen would pursue. There are the models, the businessmen and women, the stylists and fashion designers, actors and actresses, athlete and many more. :D It is really a very proud moment for all of us whenever we do hear something like this, right?

I was surprised also to know that there were Pinoys in the recent Oscars awarding and I think there was one that won an award. I think Pinoys are really talented when it comes to acting that we are slowly getting in the American film industry. I am proud that there are daring Filipinos venturing in this highly competitive career in the US.

I am very glad that men and women from the filipino community is being recognized more in Hollywood. I actually did not know that Hailee Steinfeld is part filipino and that makes it even more interesting. Matthew Labatique is a very good cinematographer and he is truly deserving of an Oscar nod. I don't think any of them will win, but it is great to be nominated regardless.
