According to a television show last night that Macau is know to the Las Vegas of Asia. Macau is a small place yet its almost like Las Vegas indeed. Many beautiful place to go in as they say. Unfortunately I haven't been there. I was wondering if you could extend your knowledge to my friend who will be visiting Macau very soon. I saw a segment last night about MAcau beautiful spot. But I don't know if I got the correct term. Xaia and dancing water. What's the right term? Is anything else you could recommend to him? Who know i might visit Macau very soon.

Macau is a generally peaceful enclave. I especially like visiting and hanging around Taipa where you could even wander aimlessly around without the fear of getting mugged and bugged. Largo de Senado is a must-see spot, along with of course, The Venetian. Take a trip downtown to the Macau Tower and hang-out in one of the coffee houses there. There, you'll have a breathtaking view of the Macau bridge especially during the evening. If you're in a budget, may I suggest the Best Western Taipa hotel. They offer affordable rates and, who knows, you might bump in into the friendly Filipino staff at a grocery nearby. Peace and cheers.:)

Macau - Casino in Macau
Macau, Las Vegas of Asia! Well maybe because it has Casinos. Many people go there to gamble and try luck. Some win, some lose so sorry for those who lose. But as for me when I visit a place I would not waste time playing in casino. I would rather visit the beautiful places and enjoy rather than play in casino and get home empty-handed, sad and regretful should bad luck comes my way.

I been there only 1 day. I been to Venetian Hotel and Wynn Hotel. I hardly spend time in Macau because my mother, my friend and I need to go to Hong Kong to stay. Our main visit is Hong Kong but I can tell you Macau is a lot more cooler than Hong Kong in winter time. There is a lot place to visit and Macau is far more bigger than you can imagine. There are skycrappers everywhere and highway and airport. Hope you will have fun when you been there!

I have been to Macau when I was small and went once there couple years ago. The last time I went with my husband for one day, we went to some of the casinos and gambled, ended up winning couple hundred bucks. We didn't go to other sightseeing places because we spent all the time at the casinos instead I have heard there are places that you can sightsee annd stuff besides gambling. But I don't remember. I know the bakeries in Macau is very famous though; people buy them as souvenirs. I'm gonna visit Macau again in this coming summer, I'm excited about it!

I never been to Macau myself personally too. I wish that I can spend sometime and vacation over there too. I would love to definitely. I heard that most people went there only for gambling or some sort. They got one of the biggest casino in Asia. About the sightseeing spots were limited.

Macau is exactly how Las Vegas is, but with about a thousand times more Asians gambling. Everybody speaks chinese and everybody looks at you if you are NOT chinese. It is a very beautiful place, especially the old Macau with the Tycoon Casino that is still up there. the food is fabulous and if you like beef jerky and sweets and little cakes with filling, you must get it when you walk the streets of Macau. They are all over. Only in Macau can you have a roasted pork on rice right in the food court of a casino. Being a New Yorker and seeing this blew me away. Macau is a great place for your friend to go and he will have a wonderful time.

I have been there only once and I was there only for a day. We just made a side trip from Hongkong. We went to Kun Lam Ecumenical center at the harbor, Lotus Square, Macau Tower (though we didn't go up to see the view), Wynn's Hotel (the fountain show there is quite a sight), Senado Square (for shopping and eating), Ruins of St Paul Church and the Venetian Hotel. I forgot to mention also the Fisherman's Wharf. We were fortunate enough to have witnessed the famous Cirque du Soleil at the Venetian Hotel. Even though it is quite a small place, it is surrounded by different beautiful spots to visit to every kind of tourist.
