The first time I painted my nails

Well I think if you're going to do something, just do it if you like it, don't do it because of other people also do it. That's my opinion. :)

Hi, don't worry, you are not unusual you are not just used in coloring your nails. I was once like you but with my sister's encouragement and influence my nails are colored most of the time. This is when she gets bored and done polishing her nails, she would go to me and offer me to color my nails. I just okay but i usually tell her to put light colors or just nail tone to be more subtle, i guess i don't like too dark colors.

You shouldn't be made to feel that you have to have your nails painted to be one of the girls. We are all individuals and have our own styles and personalities. You should express yourself as you want. If you like more natural looking nails, than that it is your choice to make and be happy with.

Every girl has different tastes. It is not unusual if you don't want something others want or want something others don't. Like for me, I like my toes painted, but not my hands. And I don't really know why.

Well, you're not the only female I know who loathes the smell of nail polish. My cousin hates it too, and I had the utmost misfortune of being around her when she decided to give it a try. By misfortune, I mean she did my nails as well. Till now, I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this...

I love nail paints. When i was younger i bit my nails so i could never have a proper nail paint. I really wanted to have pretty nails but could never stop biting my nails. But now i can i stop that disgusting habit of mine:D And no you aren't unusual. I have some friends who can't stand nail paint and the smell of it.

Hi tkonlinevn, I dont think its unusual, I also dont like to paint my nails, like you I also remove them after a few hours, dont know I feel it doesnt look very nice on my hands....

Very good! and it wasn't unusual practiced because you've had selected the right choice of your disliking by cleaned up the pasted color. I mean, everyone has rights to each his own. The main thing is which color is suitable for you mirrors of yours; identity and personality.

my wife only color her nails on special occasions she wears her nails just the simple way. she says without the color she can see her nails clearly if it is dirty or not. so there are times that she colors but most of the times there is no color. i guess colored nails looks good but not if you have it everyday. i've been in japan and see teens who have long nails and colored them dark plus they put jems on it. very fashionable... but not my type. i just love the way my wife does it occasionally.

Hello tkonlinevn... I´m similar to you. I don´t enjoy too much having my nails painted. I use them small, never long, and when I paint them, I use very very light colors, as peach or a very tender pink... Blessings!... Dainy

Well, much better to be a natural one. Because it appear much beautiful being a natural beauty than anything which is full of artificial things...

I don't like to paint mine either. I could care less about my nails. I had them painted one time and i felt everyone was staring at me. Have a great day

I don't think it is that unusual. I don't like to paint mine either. When I do, I use clear color so you can't tell if they are chipped. My nails were never nice, but they are worse now. I have some sort of disease and they say your nails reflect your health. I have to keep mine very short now, or they turn under, and flake, and just generally grow weird. I used to do my toes also, but I have trouble lifting my feet up, and I can't go barefoot or in sandles anymore, so I quit that.

hey hey.. I painted my nails just last 2 years. When I went school I gnawed nails and then you know, there wasn't painted by. Then I got artificial gel nails and wear 2 years. after this 2 years I took off and now my nails are strong and long. And I like painted nails and draw flowers too.

Growing up I WANTED to paint my nails but because I have funny shaped citified and nail beds, I typically kept them short because they were soft and curled under. Then on 1999, I was going to my 10th high school reunion and I got my first manicure. But that was the last one until 2005 when I took a job where I needed to look good. Ever since, I've gotten my nails done--they look better and I feel 'done'.

Personally, I don't care much for painting my nails either. Sometimes I will go do it just to "pamper" myself. I do like the way it looks, but I can't be bothered with trying to do it myself because it always looks messed up when I do it. Most of the time I don't bother with any kind of makeup because it takes time and I hate wasting time on things like that. The only time I ever do it is if someone does it for me. Just because "everyone does it" and you don't doesn't make you unusual. You are different, but isn't diversity what makes this world interesting?

I can't stand it either. I used to have this insane feeling that my nails can't breathe somehow under all that nail paint. Crazy huh? But I could never stand to have my nails painted, well, like you, not for very long.

You're not unusual. SO what if you don't like to paint your nails? As long as your nails are clean and neat, no problem if you have it painted or not. It's just personal preference so don't sweat it. =)

During summertime I paint my toes nails red.I keep it all summer. It looks good when you walk bare foot in my point of view. At special occasions I put colors in my finger nails matching the clothes I'm wearing. I'm a woman looking natural who is rarely using perfume and cosmetics.

Unusual is not bad. Being unique is better than being common. and you are not the only girl who hates things like this. And it is good to respect the natural beauty you have. Girls paint their nails to be more beautiful. you may have the famous quote "SIMPLE LIVING HIGH THINKING". Be proud to what you do other than being affected by other's.
