Hello Friends
Yesterday's match was quite exited for all Cricket Lover. Finally India and England share the points after having tie in very good game.
But I am having one doubt. In T20 after tie super over can give the result between two teams. But what about this 50-50 format.. I know tie in the match is not the regular thing.
But suppose what if two teams gets tie in the world cup final..
Will Both team shares the cup .. or .. Is their any other thing like super over for 50 50 format too..??!!

This was the discussion which i was also thinking to begin.
Exactly the same question arised in my mind also.
surely, there should be some provision to declare the winner.
I dont think a tie in WC final will happen, and if it happens it will not be good to share the cup.
I think umpires, icc pannel and other will decide about it when it happens.

Sorry for stealing your idea...
Yes There should be some rule for this too. In t20 format there is super over.. So in ODI format too there should be something like super over. Hope they will think about that. And yes tie is the rare thing for any match so in final this will not happen.. But in case they should have think about this too.![](/Content/images/emotes/thumbup.gif)

From the knockout stages all the ties would be decided. There is a tie-breaker for any ties in the knock out stages. So if there is a tie in the final it would be decided by a tie-breaker. But during the league stages it would be given as 1 point for both the teams.
Cheers!

As per the world cup rules:
If a quarter-final is tied, the teams shall compete in a one over per side eliminator to determine which team progresses to the semi-final.
If following a tie, weather conditions prevent the one over eliminator from being completed, or if the match is a no result, then the team that finished in the higher position in the Group stage shall proceed to the semi-finals.

Cheers!

@ram_cv.. yes as per link you have provided those rules seems new for this world cup i guess.
Because kul2010 is also right. In 1999 world cup Australia had tie with South Africa in semi final match..But because of high runrate of Australia they went for final.

Very interesting question.
the TIE ,its occurs vary rarely.
Currently in ODI there is no result making facility if Tie happens.
So the chance will be sharing the cups .
And I will say that the officials will disscuss at that time a choose some solution ,just liKe super over or some thing as we have in t20.
And ICC should make some Rules for ODI when Match Ties .

Hi akp
I think one would keep the upper lid of the cup and the other would keep the lower half
and then exchange them after 2 years(50% of time before the next world cup is played)![](/Content/images/emotes/rofl.gif)

Then they have no other choice except to sharing the cup each team would have it for 2 years in there respective country
hope it does not happen because i like to see only one winner
if it do happen then i think by the time the next world cup start a rule of tie break would have been implemented in ODI also

If the tie is in a league match then the teams have to share the cup but if it is in a knock out match say semifinals ot finals then they will come up with a different set of rules to make one team win.. may be just like our IPL they might have been asked to play for an over and see which teams wins.. but I am very sure that the cup will not be shared because I remember Ravi making a statement in his comment that they will not be sharing anything in a knock out match....
