Do you think that the importance of blogging is on the decline after the launching of twitter, facebook or so many similar sites?

I dont think blogging is going to end as Facebook and Twitter is up there. The only decline will be on the time people spend on blogs. It is not because blogs are boring, it is because people dont want to get out of Facebook and Twitter. Only sharing takes place between these social networking sites. But blogging is somthing different. It depend on the niche. Personal blogs might decline but information blogs have great potential as long as the blogosphere ends.

Yes I think so because not everyone is a writer. Not everyone can write very well or is very fond of writing per se. While these social networking sites offer a quick way for them to express themselves through status messages. Not to mention that they can just easily upload all of their pictures/videos there and gather as much comments as they want. I have lots of friends on FB compared to my blog. So when I write I post these blogs to my FB account so that more people will come and read it.

I think that blogging can still be an option and it really depends on the way inwhich you want to reach your viewers. And what you to communicate to your friends, clients and such online. We can always use options and blogging is just one of many to use and take advantage of in this world of the web.

It depends on what you mean by importance. For people who like to talk about their everyday lives and get in touch with other people, maybe it's become less important than social networking sites. But I doubt that there's any way to prove it. In some ways, blogging is just as important as it always was, and maybe more so. I'm a writer who's about to put out my first novel as an ebook. I love to write, and that includes sharing my ideas about writing and books. That's what I do with my blog. Judging from the number of writers blogging just on wordpress.com, I'd say that it's still pretty darned important. I've met a lot of people that way, and had a lot of interesting discussions via comments.

I think blogging is still relevant even with sites like FaceBook. FaceBook is a good place for friends and family and nowadays marketing. But blogging is more detailed than FaceBook when there is informative or important information to be had. Even if the information is not important, a blog is more personal and the blogger can add what he or she wants on that blog. So in closing I do not see a major decline in blogging. The future is coming fast, who knows what the next big thing is going to be.
