Hi friends,
I could not watch Sachin's batting but saw after that. When India scored 338 I was sure about our victory but it was England caption who changed the match. Again India got hold in between but lost it soon. We scored well but bowlers did not do well.
Tie was not bad as compare to losing but not good when compare to win, It was a good comeback but we let the match go in their hand. We should have won.
What do you say?

I have different opinion on this my friend , i think our team deserved to lose this match and they got away with a tie .This was not the first time that a team was not able to defend a huge score, this has happened in the past also but the commitment and performance of Indian bowling and fielding was certainly not better than a club team at least in this match. For 10-15 overs bowled in the middle of the innings there was a boundary in every over which is simply ridiculous and certainly not expected from no2 team in the world. As fans we can please ourselves by saying that Bell and Strauss batted superbly and all that but there was one or two bad balls in every over .If we analyze the match ,English players made 106 runs in 15 overs and in next 15 when spinners were on and field was spread they managed to make another 91 which is by no means is acceptable.Harbhajan kept it tight but other three spinners like Chawla , Yuvi and Pathan were bowling bad balls asking to be hit.Pitch was great for batting no doubt about that but all spinners had to do was ball good line and length just to keep it tight and this would have compelled Strauss and Bell to manufacture big shots which they did at the end and would have perished.Dhoni missed the trick just after Trott was out, as there was no attempt to pressurize Strauss and Bell.Extremely defensive captaincy and simply poor bowling gave English batsman the belief that they can come close. We all know that batting is strength of team India and their batsman can win the cup for them, all they need is some support from bowlers, yes we dont have Brett Lee,Johnson, Murali, Steyn and Morkel but atleast bowlers can bowl with some discipline and commitment. We don't expect magical bowls from our bowlers but still they are not so bad that they could not defend 338.Actually its good that this match was a tie and not a victory for India as its a perfect wake up call like it was after first test against SA where Indian bowlers got heavy beating .If we would have won then Indian media as usual had made this victory as greatest victories ever with superb comeback and all that over hyped farce stories. Now the foot of Indian players will be on the ground and they better realise that this is not a fairy tale where Indian is destined to win but its a serious business where other teams have also come to win and give their best.

I will have to agree, Indian team need to understand that only batting can not win match for them, bowling and fielding is equally important to win matches. India is still not good at bowling and if we do not work on that area, it will be a dream in future as well to win another world cup title.

I think India was lucky to come back to tie the match. They were seriously in danger of losing the match pretty convincingly at the 40 over mark. Then Strauss erred with the Powerplay decision and India got a chance to come back. They could have won the match, but a mistake by Dhoni in handing the ball to Piyush for the 49th over and another by Munaf in pitching the ball up to number 10 batsmen instead of bouncing him nearly cost us the match.
Cheers!

Yes , they were in danger and it was there luck and they came back in the game. I will say it was not a great match if you talk from Bowling point of view.

It was a pure negligence from the bowlers to gift away the game though we were lucky enough to survive with the tie. The decision of giving Ian Bell horrible and did gave a large effect on the out come of the game.
I loved the batting of Sachin and I enjoyed the batting of India.

Watching sachin is a visual treat but bowlers should also do their part. Only batting can not win match.
