Are Narwhals Real?

I fell really "silly" if you will, for asking this. Most of you have probably heard of narwhals, but if you havn't, it basically looks like a seal with a horn sticking out of it's head. I never really thought of them being real until a few months ago when my friends said they were. Now though, there are other people I know saying they are fake! So what are they, real or fake?
