It has always been told that there is life after death. An eternal life prepared by God for his chosen ones, his followers. That is why we are always instructed to live our life in accordance to his will so that we may live a life geared towards that eternity, in preparation for his coming and outright selection of his people who have faithfully followed his words. However, what if there is no eternal life? no life after death? what would it mean to you? Would it affect your life? with how you deal with people around you and with they way you live your life? Would you still be wanting to do good even if people have hurt you, because you're afraid God would not choose you to live with him in the after life? would it affect the way you live your life? I would like to know your views on this my fellow mylotters.

Hi derie, Yeah, what if there is none? Many outlooks has developed put of this eternal question. We have the materialists, those who based only their reality on what are the tangible things by the senses. Then there are the utilitarians, those who see things as what they can use for their own good, that's reality for them. They live like there was no tomorrow, "eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow you may die" is their byword. The pursuit of happiness is the ultimate goal of all existence, it may seem to be. Looking at it all, are they really happy? Looking at the promises of eternal life, it is not the way it should be. Our human nature is not really a by-product of our material needs, rather, we exist for a higher purpose. Lower life forms may exist only to survive, to carry on the next generation for their own kind and nothing else. Our happiness is really the ultimate realization of our full potential as higher forms of life, existing to answer the mysteries that our great minds has perceived. If there is no afterlife, then, let us achieve our full humanity while we're still here. In that way, we may be able to have that eternal reward while still walking the face of the Earth. Our last glimpse of reality before we close our eyes for the final time should be the realization that we lived life to the fullest and the hope that one day, we may live again as we are now. If there was no eternity to be had, at least, we rest with our conscience free from the regrets of the things that should have been.

I believe in eternal life and even being alive on Earth to be an ilusion, cause there might be so much more than this, I also don't believe in hell, I see how we as humankind hurt kids, animals and I think there's no worse place than here, although there are great things in being alive. I'm sure when we die everyone goes to the place they belong, most will suffer because if they were selfish, didn't help no one or even worse, hurted people. And there are many, many places to go, Jesus Christ said there are many houses of My Father, I think by that he meant every level of a spirit there's a destinated place we can go and also that other planets are houses too, that there's life out there.

I have never really put much thought into this. I have no doubt in my mind that there is not an after-life. I know I'm going to Heaven, and I will be with God and his only son one day!
