Yesterday, I know I have done a nice thing for my office mate. Her husband was in the ICU for complications of his liver in a far away city . She asked for a leave of absence for 2 days, but yesterday was already at work but seemed distraught . I comforted her and asked what could be the matter.
She said she pity her husband in the ICU, with just a maid to look after him because his parents and brothers were all busy on their businesses. She too have to report back to work because her immediate boss told her to be present because of a month-end audit that will be done for the cash she handles.
So, in behalf of her, I approached my boss and if she could take a leave again the next day and explained why. My boss , being a widow understood her fear of becoming one if the worst will happen so she readily approved it and have somebody take her place for the time being that she will be absent.
Wow , it was a nice feeling to see her cry once again - because of relief and happiness for what I have done ! Surely, God is happy with what I have done.

Awwh you are so sweet. This brought joy to her and she was so appreciative for what you did! I do try really hard to always think of others and how even something small can help anyone.
Since I am not able to monetarily I do really simple things like drive friends to do errands and or doctor appointments. I do try to make myself available to certain people I know who can use the help.

Good on you for doing what you did!
There was a time when I was always donating blood. I didn't really had any reason to do it. It was just something to do at work. I earned 'units' in the blood bank then.
I had an officmate too that had a husband that was needing some blood which was my type. Not knowing what to do with the units I earned, I gave it to my office mate. She and her husband was so grateful, and kept thanking me.
I felt embarassed from all of their attention.

That was a nice thing you did, I have always had a little thing that I make at least one person happy each day, nice if I can make more but I feel if I at least make one person happy each day by doing something, even just make someone smile...one day, if everyone did that it would be a good world.

Sometimes, we do something nice not out of obligation, but out of pity though. But whatever the circumstances that leads to it, at least we have done something good.

You have a good heart. Those simple gestures and act is already a big help to your friend/colleague. Only few people nowadays sacrifice for others. I salute you for that.
Anyway, i also did what you've done to your friend years ago. Me, my girl friend and her husband are office mates. While working her bag of water was broken and her husband took her to the hospital and have to stay with her cause she was scheduled for an operation. For a month i have to fill-in their slots and it was not easy for me cause i was studying(full load) at that time and i was working up to 4am. It's tiring but rewarding cause i learned how to manage my time.

You are a lady of heart.Nothing is more happy than doing something nice for others.Just as the proverb says,it is more blessed to give than to receive. However at present many people are indifferent to others so much as taking pleasure in others misfortune.

I know that i could do something for her to solve her predicament, so i have to pull some strings - ask my boss to grant it for her, because surely my boss will permit.
