I want to learn how to make a website but I don't know how to start. I have ideas on what my website would be I just don't know how to make one. What are the things I need to know and to have when making a website? It's just for a simple website.

When I first got my computer I knew nothing about computers or webpages and then a couple of years later a very special friend of mine passed away, he was an entertainer here in Australia and I wanted to do a tribute webpage but what I had seen with the programs you could buy, they were all too complicated, in those days it was knowing all the codes and such and then someone asked me if I had "word" om my computer, he said that was the simplest way to make a webpage, so long as you are not wanting to put shops and stuff on it...well I had a lokk and worked it all out, now I have a huge webpage that has been archived by our National Library here...If you want a simple webpage have a look at Word if you have it on your computer...

its just a case of starting off with your page as Index page then working within the tables part of it adding photos and text and then add your extra pages as links connected to your index page...

There are a number of companies which offer services to set up websites. They have a borad selection of templates you can choose, depending on the theme of the website you would like to build, personal, business, travel, and so on. You can set up a simple website for free too.

I have to agree with your other two responses, webs.com is great. I know nothing about building a website, but with webs.com I built a great website for my fire department, with multiple pages, links to other info websites, I can post pictures of training or fires we respond too. It's great, simple to use, and you can even use it to build one for a business, with paypal checkout.

I first started with free websites. If you know what type of content you want all you need to do is put in the info. Webs.com is a good free site and it's easy to build you don't need to know html.
