I like books. I usually look for the good books to buy. But now, almost of them I can read in Internet, so I don't buy them anymore.
Do you know the book "Angles and Demons"? It's very famous. Everyone want to read it. I'm too. I'm going to buy one. But then, I found this story in Internet. And I have never bought it!
How about you? Will you buy a book which you can read it in Internet?

That, my friend, sounds to me a lot like PIRACY. You know what that is? That's where copyright law is broken and things that shouldn't be online and available for free, are. It's illegal. It's dishonest. It's WRONG.
There are places you can get books online for free, but that's going to be sites which put up books in the public domain (the copyright is expired and the book is now free game for all), or libraries that have permission to distribute or showcase e-books. This is one of the reasons that I hate ebook... it's made book piracy, a crime that was virtually non-existent, darn easy. And now readers are going the way of disrespectful and self-centered fans of music and movies and stomping on copyright law to get what they want for free.
(I have a very strong opinion about piracy... lol)
I do not read books on the internet. I hate ebooks anyway, for other reasons, but even if I liked them then I would not be reading pirated books online. Piracy is the equivalent of stealing to me. Besides, I have a legal way to get free books. I can go to the library.

When I say there are places you can get books online for free in the second paragraph I mean places you can get them for free LEGALLY, and without breaking any copyright laws.

I do not buy lol i just look for free books..i know it is bad, some are pirated. lol. but yes i do, because i cannot afford one. anyway, the ebooks i downloaded are still here, i finished reading them all and i have not printed them lol that would be a waste of my paper and ink but still i read them all..but if given the chance to have a real book, i would still buy the real book..

I agree with you that I look for free books either hard copies or ebooks at local library to download into my Sony EReader or reserve books to be on a waiting list. Ordinarily, I would also inquire with friends if they have read a certain book and then they'll tell me that they have it and I can borrow...that works too.

I much prefer having a physical copy of a book rather than an ebook.I don't know if it is the sense of ownership of an item, the sense of creating a collection finding a book you have never seen before in a back street market or charity shop seems like more of a find than just searching and downloading a file making the book more prized or it could be simple vanity by making people think im inteligent by seeing all my books.

Not sure. I haven't bought books that can be read online. I don't think I like the idea of sitting infront of my laptop for hours(and hours)reading. Now and e-reader is probably the better option for me. But I like classic books. The smell of a book and the feel of it are just wonderful.

I'd still go for books than reading in the internet. For one, I don't like staring at the monitor for too long. Secondly, I keep a collection of books close to my heart and lastly, I just don't find reading straight from a computer monitor that appealing. Books are a good investment and I don't mind spending money on them. :)

Given a chance , I still prefer reading from the physical book rather than from e-reader. But I'm still cool with it too. Collecting books used to be my favorite , and it's cool to have our own mini collection too.

I love all things technology and I absolutely love the Internet but when it comes to reading books, I love those too, the Internet is then a no go area! I don't like the idea of reading books online and I think that this is the worst thing that could have happened! I love books and I like to hold them physically in my hands, slowly turning the pages, you get the atmosphere I'm trying to create? That only comes with physical books.
There's none of the blowing of the dust off the spine when you are reading a book online! I have heard of Angels and Demons although I've never had the privilege of reading this book. I have a multitude of books in my collection, physical books that is! I think the Internet is wonderful for all things except for reading books! Andrew

I would rather read a paper book. I would not be comfortable in front of the computer for that long. You can take a regular book with you anywhere, and I prefer that. Also book stores are going out of business, because people don't buy them much anymore they read them online. I guess I am just old fashioned also.

Definitely, I would love to still have a collection of books I've read online or through ebooks. Having a hard copy is still different and classy in my own opinion. I would love to have a collection of some classic novels that are really good to read, Harry Potter series, Lord of the Ring Series and others.

I would still buy the book even if it was on the internet because as others have said,it is nice to hold a book in my hands. But also I know a book cannot be shut off.You can read it if the electricity were to go off.And in some cases you may like to go camping and you can't exactly take a computer with you if you go camping in the woods. That is one reason I like books better.

Yes,you are right. Nowadays we can have access to lots of books online. The internet really convenient our life. In the past, when we need some information, we have to go to library, and if the information is too huge, we have to buy the whole book. And now, we can search them online, which saves time and most importantly, money for us.
Well, most time, i won't buy books if i can read them online. But for those that are needed too often, or for those masterpiece i want to keep i will buy.

For me, I would prefer buying a book instead of purchasing them through the internet through download. I like the comfort of reading a book anywhere and I like the book's covers (I'm sort of a collector of many things so it reflects on books too ). I don't like reading on the computer because I find it uncomfortable and I'd like to save from increased electricity bills.

It depends on the book. Even if I have an E-book, or can read it online, if I really like it, I'd buy it. Or, if I find it at the booksale, I'll buy it. I love books.

If you downloaded Angels and Demons (not Angles and Demons) and didn't pay for it, then you got it from an illegal site. The internet is a big place, and there are pirate sites as well as sites where you pay for what you want. Of course, if you don't care that you're stealing from the author of the book and from his publisher, go right ahead.

Actually I would buy a book even if it were free on internet. I like collecting book and the feeling of reading a book and reading it online is a lot different for me. I would definitely buy the book =)
