The last day of Black History Month

Even though Black History Month (February) ended just a couple of minutes ago. I just would like to take the time out to say, even though we only recognize these very innovative and influential people only one month out of a year, we should remember their contributions to the world everyday. An African American invented the stoplight.... the air conditioner.... the hot comb.... and the fire escape ladders among many other important things that we use in today's society. Never forget your roots. And never forget those who convenience your existence everyday in this world. Happy Black History Month until next year!!!!!

I definitely think that the contributions that Africans Americans have made to the world as we know it today are important. However, when it comes to Black History Month, what I tend to think about more than the great contributions that African Americans have given to our world today is the struggle that those people have had to go through in the course of American history to simply have the opportunity to be considered the people that they are and always have been.

Very true and well said!! Even though that is a part of history that covers a span of over 300 years... it was a long journey for my people that were blessed by God to overcome. Stronger. Thanks for commenting!!

wwell, first i think that black history month should be more like a year. African canadians and americans contributed a lot to the way we live today.

I totally agree. There is so much more than just what appears to be on the surface. More people should learn and know about all cultural history so that maybe one day it will stop repeating itself. Thanks for sharing your views!!

This month, I learned that Phil Brooks patented the first disposable syringe. I use a syringe on the daily bases to take my medication! Until next year! :)
