I definately agree on the books by Koontz and King. I also find that there are certain books that I always love to go back to, Gone with the Wind is absolutely worth reading more than once. I also recommend any book by John Jakes, they are more of a historical type of book mixed with a story but I find them extremely interesting.

Well that would depend. What do you like to read? Because I'm a huge fan of high fantasy novels and I could recommend loads of those... but if you're into mysteries then I can't help you.
So what kinds of genres do you like? Are you a non-fiction or fiction person and if you're a fiction person... do you lean more realistic or more speculative?
I'd recommend just looking around the bookstore in the genre sections that you enjoy. You'll find something that interests you.

I would suggest that you go the the book store and look at different books and buy one by a different author but about something you are interested in. I did that with my local librarian. I would ask her to select a new book for me based on what I had read in the past. she has come up with great choices and started me reading different authors.
