Two days, Two hattricks. This time it is that man again, Lasith Malinga for his second world cup hat trick after one he picked up in 2007 against South Africa. It also showed how much Sri Lanka missed him in the match against Pakistan. With him back in the team, the Sri Lankans look that much more of a deadly team. Your comments please... Cheers! Ram

Malinga is master of Yorker and god of Sling anction. All the three wickets he took were on yorker only. It was last ball of 42nd over when he LBW'd Tanmay Mishra. On the very first ball of 44th over he bolded Peter Ogondo. It was the ball of 44th over when he bolded Shem Nagoche. When Malinga was a child he used to play in the sandy land nearby a river with a tennis ball. C. Ratnayeke noticed him and took him into his cricket academy. There he tried his best to rectify Malinga's balling action but he was unsuccessful after all efforts. Malinga is a baller of round-arm-action. This is also called sling action. He started his one day international career in 2004. His Sling Action makes it impossible for the batman to see the ball. This is best thing in his balling as when batman can't see the ball, he is unable to play it well, especially when it is yorker. Malinga has great future ahead.

Yes, his action would have been deemed illegal in the good old days. But with the new ICC ruling on the angles his slingy action is legal. That gives him an edge over the other bowlers just like Murali got an edge due to his action. Cheers! Ram

World cup had a boring start but now things are heating up for sure, first the unexpected tie between England and India now two superb ha-tricks.Good to see Malinga back without him Srilankan pace attack was looking quite ordinary. We as fans get following indications , first Malinga is fit and in form which is not a good news for other teams especially Aus and Kiwis whom SL will be playing next, second WI are likely to crumble under pressure against big teams like they did against SA , its not that they dont have enough talent and firepower but they dont look like performing under pressure.Against Dutch they were not under any kind of pressure. them.Point is remove pressure off them and they will perform. Not looking good enough for World cup. Will be interesting to see how they will perform against Bangaldesh.Third and the last thing , alight Kenya may have done well in previous world cups but here they are very poor in approach attitude and preparation , watching them playing cricket is as good as making fun of international cricket. In every match you play 30-40 overs , make 120 odd runs and then bundle out under 150.Simply ridiculous.Malinga took six wickets against them and its surprising that all the wicket taking deliveries were exactly same. Its better to include some county team or club team or a Ranji team than Kenya.Good that ICC has included only 10 teams in next world cup , that will save lot of time and money also many fans will be saved from watching ridiculous cricket.

I think we will still have to endure more boring matches during the group stages. Kenya and Canada have been really hopeless in this tournament. The Dutch and Ireland have shown some fighting spirit though. Cheers! Ram

a team like kenya is not at all up to the mark and that we have seen in the previous matches. so a bowler of malinga's pace can be quite difficult for them to play. to add more, he has a very difficult action to understand. i know three wickets continuous is a great thing and requires skill but then too against kenya decreases the value :P the first was also i guess against some weak team or most of them were tail enders.

2 hat tricks in two ddays. The WC seems to be good for the bowlers too. He was bowling superbly. He will be a threat for the other nations if he bowls like this. If Malinga was there in the match vs PAK ,SL might have turned the tables. Any way he is an asset forthe SL. Hope we will see more good boling like this in this WC

hai friend, i saw your discussion after starting a discussion and the win of srilaka. this was Malinga's opening match in this world cup. surely they missed him aginst pak. he bowled almost every 6 wickets on york length, all yorkers were amazing to watch, event though he took the hat trick by making the tail enders as the victim.

Wow. I hadn't see the match.. But that's really great. Malinga provides good strength in Sri-Lanka's bowling.. But i still don't understand why he wasn't in team against Pakistan. Must be great bowling by him..

Yes, actually that is why I was surprised that they risked him in the match against Kenya especially when they have the Aussies next. Cheers! Ram
