Do you really turn your phones off when in the movie theater?

Same as you kimikohime. I just turn it to silent mode. Coz i believe we have mobile phones so we can be reached anytime anywhere, especially in emergency situations. so when you put your phone off it kinda go against that intention.

With respect to my fellow movie goers, I turn my cellphone in silent mode. I hate it when I hear someone's phone is ringing in the middle of the movie. In order for me not to bow down to the grudges of those watching, I turn it in silent mode before I even enter the cinema.

I put mine on silent mode as well, and as far as I know (hope?) it has never disturbed anyone. I don't have it on vibrate or anything, so you really can't hear it when it is in silent mode, so I don't see why it would either.

Yes, I turn mine off completely because I don't want to be bothered when I am watching a movie--especially if I am there with my kids!

I haven't been to a movie theater for a few good years because there isn't any left in my town,so I watch movies at home on DVDs,but if I went to a movie theater I wouldn't turn off my phone,I might set it to vibrate if the movie was really interesting.After all,it's a movie,not an exam or a conference or any other activity in which a ringtone might be bothering for the others.

For me not really ...but i like to make it bee once so i can hear my mobile and in the same time is not annoying others

I turn the ringer off but I leave the vibrating on because if something happens when my kids are with my sister I need to know about it. I dont want to wait until the movie is over to find out if there is an emergency. I would never leave the sound on in the theater though because thats very annoying to others.

I don't go to the movies. When I did, yes, I turned my phone off!!!
