Why can't people just put their trash bag all the way in the dumpster?

I don't know who exactly is doing this. There is a dumpster in my front yard. It is sitting on the grass, right near the front entrance of the mobile home park. Today, I went outside and a trash bag was not thrown all of the way in the dumpster. It was hanging outside of the dumpster. I don't understand why the person who has done this, can't just throw the entire trash bag all the way into the dumpster. Why put a whole trash bag that is filled with garbage in the dumpster, if they are not going to put the trash bag all the way in the dumpster. And then the bag is weak. If you move the bag, it will burst open. Sometimes, I have seen a smaller bag thrown over the trash dumpster just the same way. It can be a small grocery store plastic bag, that is filled with trash. It hangs the same way as the big bag of trash does too. I know that whomever is doing this, is the same person. The manager has already sent letters out about tenants throwing trash in others yards, mail being missing out of their mailbox and people taking other tenants property from out of their yards. I have not reported anything to my manager yet, but I am very close to doing so. And on top of this, trash gets thrown in my yard, I know that an animal is not always doing this. It can be cigarette boxes, beer cans, candy wrappers and other things. I keep my yard clean, and I think that people put trash in my yard because they know that I am going to clean it up sooner or later. I am getting so tired of other peoples sloppiness!

I have witnessed this type of behavior for along time. There are only two reasons I have found for this kind of behavior laziness and lack of respect for themselves and other. As long as they don't have to clean it up, they don't care. I have witnessed older people doing this. The world just doesnt care anymore!!!!

they probably fling it as they're walking by and don't check to see if it made it. we had a guy in the one complex i lived at that did this all the time-and more often than not,it'd fall out of the dumpster for the coyotes to tear open. it's pure lazyness.

Sometimes people just show the type of upbringing they've had. Or lack there off. I think it is a failure to recognize what is the right thing to do. That leaving garbage off the dumpster is NOT right. That letting other people to keep up with them is NOT right. And then they get so embarassed about it that they make sure that nobody sees them leaving garbage bags all around.

Hi Cream - I understand your frustration. I also don't understand why there are people who can live like that. I'm a type of person who does not want to cause any trouble or harm to other people and I expect them to do the same thing for me and respect me. That's why it is frustrating sometimes when no matter how nice and respectful I am they tend to abuse me. At the corner of the road where we live is also a dumpster. Every time I go there or I cross that road I can't understand why the trash are everywhere on the road but not inside the dumpster. The odd thing there is whoever is doing that seems like just lazy or maybe has no brain cells at all because the dumpster is usually just half full. Sometimes it's not even half full at all. There's enough room for the garbage. Another thing is we have a neighbor who urinates on the wall of our apartment. It gets so stinky especially when it rains. I always have to ask our helper to clean the wall every time we can smell his stinking urine. It was so awful. I don't think he is ashamed. He always sees our helper cleaning the wall and complaining about the smell but he still does it. I'm tempted to tell him it's better if they don't have a comfort room at all since it seems like he does not need it.

Putting things inside the dumpster is the epitome of difficult tasks. Afterall, it takes a great deal of brute force, willpower, and determination to lift a 15 pound bag of garbage over a 3 foot high opening. /end sarcasm I can't stand it, either. It's one thing to put it on the side when it's full (although I don't like that either, it's a little more understandable), but it's just ridiculous to have a dumpster with plenty of room to spare and not toss it all the way in. Hel, if you don't want to touch it anymore, then kick it in. Oh, and as a side note: I also hate it when they only throw their trash in one side of the dumpster, so the opening side is all full and the other side is empty.

hi Cream, You need to have a talk with the manager. Where I live, if i were to miss the dumpster then I would have to pay a 20.00 fee for my trash not being in the dumpster. I know this because I paid a 20.00 fee. My daughter took out the trash and because the dumpster was full, she set it on the outside. Apparently there was something in that bag that identified me. Another thing is kids being sent to take the trash out and they cant lift it up and over. I was told that there is no excuse. If my trash is found outside of the dumpster, I'll pay the fine. I'll tell you what...I made it clear with my daughter and if she had a problem lifting it in, she would tell me and I'd make sure it was in the dumpster. Trash outside of my apartment? I can relate to your dilema there. We get charged 15.00 per cig. butt or wrapper picked up. I don't throw my butts on the lawn and I don't throw wrappers or any other trssh on my lawn. Still I can daily pick up up a small bag of trash off my lawn in an attempt to avoid the fees. I can't prove that it isn't mine so I just pick it up. It's pretty irritating though.

Sometimes people are just lazy, or don't care. Thank goodness all the people in my neighborhood have trash cans, we live in condos. Though some of the neighbors can't fit all of the trash in the trash cans, and that's understandable, i don't understand why your neighbors just can't buy trash cans, arn't they cheap?

Where I live we have dumpsters in the alley. I have noticed many time where one dumpster will be completely full and overflowing and people will continue to put trash in it instead of walking further down the alley and putting their trash in another dumpster. When they do not put it in all the way and the wind is strong it will blow out and into the alley and into peoples yards. Tacky and rude!

hello cream, I also don't understand why some people are doing such things. Before our municipality has some metro aid cleaning the surroundings,i am always having trouble with trash hanged in our gate. I can't leave the trash that way,so disgusting so i have to throw it myself when the garbage truck passes by. Sometimes when i was in a bad mood,i leave the trash in one corner and stray dogs tore the plastic bag and trash scattered all around and my neighbors were so angry (i don't care,it's not my trash ,let them know how their trash gives troubles to other people. Since then,i never see trash bag hanged in our gate.(good thing) Keep your cool dear and report this problem to the manager.

There are really people who cannot do simple things like putting there trash into the right bin. We had a neighbor and my mom is really annoyed to to them because they just hang the plastic of garbage in front of our house. They also know when will the garbage collector collect the garbage so they will the garbage in front of our house so that my mother will be the one to throw it in the garbage track. They are very stupid and lazy and I dont know why they cant just wait for the garbage collector and be the one to give the garbage to them. Finally my mom realizes its over, she also throw the garbage in front of there house.

I believe that sometimes people get in too much of a rush to be rid of their trash into the dumpster. They toss the bag and go about their business. Some may not even take a second look to see if the bag actually went into the dumpster or not.

And something like this does not take too much extra time to do. I mean really, it only takes a few extra seconds. Surely you can spare a few extra seconds of time. It really annoys me when people who drive by think that my yard is also a garbage can, so they throw their fast food wrappers and soda cans and whatever else in my yard. Still open up the dumpster and put it inside. If you're going to to hang the trash bag there, then exactly how hard is it to put the blasted thing in the dumpster?

Some people are really lazy is the only excuse they may have as it amazes me to walk across the street to my park district, and although there are plenty of trash bins people will dump their trash right next to it, instead of inside it. Somehow I can't understand that really as what is a few more inches since they already took it down near it.
