Teachers who teach my children at school, told me that I must improve my child's concentration. I do not know, what should I do, to improve my child's concentration. Can anyone help me or advise me, to improve my child's concentration.

I would say that you set out a specific time of the day after school to specifically sit with him and together you can do homework. You can let him do the work while you supervise and do not allow the TV or any toys at this time. Give him sometime to work alone and while he is you supervise and make sure he is doing some practical exercises of school work. After the homework is completed you sit with your son and check to see how his progress is going. After wards when it is all done you and he can enjoy a nice snack like milk and cookies. But only if he completed all that you set as a goal and if he does not he does not get the snack. I hope this helps.

How old is your child if i may ask? well if he is still like young, like 5..then usually their attention span is different..it is likely to be aimed on anything lol but it is different with every child..maybe look for one thing that really interests him..and if i may ask what do you mean concentration, in school? like he does not listen?

My son is now 7.5 years old. My son was never able to concentrate on something, my kids always listen to what described, but my child can not focus, and needs to be explained repeatedly.

It is better way to be friendly like a close friend with them and share some interesting news with them by telling some tales and good stories then automatically their mind will shine and they also be free with you. And find your child's interest is there in which field, that helps us to motivate them in that direction.

TO improve your child's concentration toward a particular subject. First he should be made attracted towards the subject. his interest in the subject can be increased by making it more clear for him. I have seen children toward those which they could understand, so make him understand in simple language. Practice of "YOGA" is also a good choice. It helps in building concentration. Hope you are helped.

The first thing to do would be to find out why your child cannot concentrate. Is there perhaps a food allergy? Is your child getting enough sleep and enough to eat? Studies have shown that children who skip breakfast have a harder time in school. Skipped or missed meals sometimes add up to low blood sugar; and that can cause problems also. If everything is alright with your child's health, you might want to try working with him/her on simple and relatively short exercises/studies at home...start with about 15 or twenty minutes and work up to a half an hour from there. Work with the child and encourage him/her to refocus on the lesson or exercise each time his/her attention wanders. Eventually, this will help the child to discipline him/herself to staying on track during the exercise/study. Of course, don't forget to reward the child after each exercise for his/her efforts-and, especially after success-an exercise with little or no reminders needed to stay on track. God bless.

I think you have to get him in a good environment that he is used to so he can concentrate better on his homework. At that time, you need to avoid other distractions such as other kids around, television, or other toys. Also you need to be there with his to supervise him and help him. I think it is best that you see a doctor to know if he has an attention deficit disorder, in which case, you will have a lot of help from the doctor as to how you could help your son better. Good luck.

The only thing I can think of is, if he is old enough, teach him to take notes. Actually, it seems to me that it is the teacher's job to make her lesson interesting enough that he will want to listen. Another possibility that might work with younger children is to make a game that you play with the child using the material that was covered in class that day. If he knows that you will ask him specific questions about what he learned that day , maybe he'll pay attention so that he'll please you. You will have to get lesson specifics from the teacher. "What did you learn today?" is too general for this purpose.

try to give him an exam. give him 30 minuets to do it. before the time is arrived don't let him leave his chair even he can't do it. do it with love and accompany him to answer the exam. there he can try to concentrate with the exam. try it for a week after that you can add the time till 45 then 1 hour.

I think children will love to study if we made it fun and interesting. I see this in one of my cousins she will absorb the lesson if I teach her in fun way and reads the lesson book like making a drama. He will remember it even after a week but if I force her with straight tone she will harder to learn about it. I think why so many kids addicting to game and concentrate on it because its fun and challenging. I think if we could made learning in the same situation its will great. I think with kids all related with their feeling. Good luck in teaching your precious baby.

This is a very hard thing to advise you about. Because your might suffer some kind of problem or there may be some environment problem where it affects his concentration at school. You might do well to go to the school and observe your child how s/he behaves and then seek special help if you cannot help at home. Good luck.

Hi indah, I taught in a school few years back and now also give tuitions also sometimes if any student approaches me...my teaching experience says that if you make a child learn and write answers he remembers it well...once he remembers the answers he will definitely perform well and subsequently this will boost him and will increase his concentration..Good Luck!

Turn off all noise in the room. Depending on his age and ability give him several letters or numbers and then have him say them back to you. Start with two, then three , etc. The more he does and that you work with him the better his concentration will become. And if all else fails you should probably have him tested for ADHD.

Hi, Since the teacher has highlighted to you about your children performance at school, i believe they are attending a good school. You need to have a good chat with your children about their school life. To improve their concentration at school, there are several ways you can try : 1. Get enough sleep for your children.Make sure they are having enough sleep everynight. Set a timetable for them to sleep everynight and wake them up earlier to get ready to school. 2. Let them have nutrition food and some multivitamin which may improve their stamina. 3. Always tell them that being smart and getting good result at school is not for you,but that is for their own benefits. 4. Give them small rewards when they achieve a good results in their test. 5. Spend more time with your children in their school subjects. accompany them while they are doing their homeworks. 6. Engaged a family outing once a while. I believe the children will be happy to have family function and it definitely will affect their mood at school. When the children are happy and full of energy, it will make them concentrate better in their study. Hope my tips are useful for you.
