The yorker has been most effective delivery to get wicket over the years and when the ball starts reversing it's unplayable.
This world cup Malinga got the best out of it buy picking 6 wickets, the others like zaheer khan and Tim bresnon also got the results from those.
I think the yorker is going to be vital factor in this world cup.

I agree with you nainesh, yorker is the best weapon to get the wickets for a fast baller but it needs to be perfected if not it works negative way. The attempted yorker if not balled properly can be a full toss and is an easy opportunity for the batsman to score. Malinga in his initial period had been wayward like that and was hammered to all corners of the ground. Pakistan ballers Waqar and Akram were the best exponents of this art and got loads of wickets by that delivery.

Yorker is definitely a deadly ball. What is sad is that none of India's bowlers really bowl yorkers with any consistency. The last Indian bowler who used to bowl yorkers regularly was Prabhakar. I am not sure why Indian bowlers cannot work on this ball more on the nets to master it.
Cheers!
