Well i think this depends on person. I'm a teenager and basically i'm not so interested in dating. I did try going on a blind date once but it was a very horrible experience and i think i had it with blind dates, i'm never going on one again lol. Anyway I think the thought of dating depends on the person and is not so important to every teen.

Dating is essential in every teenager's life as a way of experimenting what we really want with our lives, which people to be with and knowing more about ourselves and others. It's a getting to know stage and there's nothing wrong with dating so long as you do it right.

Well I'm 25 years old now and as far as I can remember during my life as a teenager I am not into dating. I don't think dating is a more important thing other than studying my lessons. During my time that was my last priority and I really eliminate hindrance to achieving my goal. When I was 22 that was the first time I went out on a date with my future hubby. :)

I was a very sheltered teenager and speaking from experience I believe dating is an important part of growing up. I wasn't allowed to go to ball games after school, or skating, or to the movies, God forbid I ask to go on a date! And think that's why I ran to NC with my first real boyfriend when I was 17. And in alot of ways I think me not having any experience with guys, not knowing how most of them are, that caused me trouble in my marriage. I wanted to know what else was out there, and maybe if I'd been allowed to experience dating in high school, I would have learned a little quicker. Idk, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

Hi mamibevs,
I dont know where are you from but dating is western thing and is not a part of ancient cultures and think that old asian cultures like india and china dont have dating yet they are so sucessful cultures. In India people get married in to arranged marriages and they have such sucessful marriages and hardly any problem of teenage pregnencies or divorces.

Yes dating is definitely very necessary in young people's lives since through it they get to know people more and even go into serious relationships. It's kind of like a preparation for married life too.. I think.

Dating for teens is not necessary and is not an important stage of a teens life but it is one of the stages in a teenagers life. call me old fashion. I just turned 20 and when I was a teenager I did not feel that it was important to date. Of course I felt the peer pressure specially now in our generation where children that are as young as 12 years old already have boyfriends and girlfriends. I think it also depends on your environment. I grew up in a relatively conservative town so it was not a big deal. That being said, I also think that it has it's benefits. Dating will make you closer more to a certain individual. I'm happy though that I did date only the person that I really cared for not not just some random guy.
