Hi king,
You may be confused with the idea of one God and its three persons. Understanding it requires deep meditation and contemplation. Just thinking about it may create question from the seemingly contradictory nature of the Trinity. Still, it is one of the basic pillars of Christianity. To take a glimpse of understanding to this dilemma, try, for a start, to see it from a physical point of view.
Physics defines three stages of matter: Solid, Liquid and Gas. Meaning, any physical object could assume these three forms. It is all around us, just try to look it up. Water, for example, can manifest as water vapor or air. It can manifest as ice in solid form or in liquid form as the one we are more familiar with. In all these physical transformations, the formula remained the same, two parts Hydrogen and one part Oxygen atom in a covalent bond that is virtually unchanged no matter what condition it may be in: hot, cold or room temperature.
In rough terms, that can also approximate the manifestation of the three person of one divine being. It just depends on the state of the mission and the time when the event transpired. God the Father is not God the Son nor God the Holy Spirit. However the three refers to one and the same God with the same equal powers and attributes. It is the one same God that could manifest in different times and different situations to address different issues using the appropriate person for the purpose. Of course, you cannot drink ice or breathe in water.
It takes the eyes of a believer to see this reality.

ROG: I would have given you the "best response" mark, for common sense, clarity, & accuracy. Instead, the mark went to someone who asked a very old question, admittedly one which does beautifully illustrate why we humans can never fully comprehend God, & why God is God, & has an infinite mind, unlike we created humans.
I look at it like this: God designed our universe to behave in a certain way. He could have done it in an infinite number of different ways, but for reasons of His own, it is what it is. But He could just as well have made it so that mathematics which make no sense in this universe would be perfectly fine in a different version. One scientist once said it this way: "In the eighth dimension, one could turn an orange inside out, & not break the skin."
In other words, to paraphrase Shakespeare, There are more things in Heaven--but not on Earth--sir, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

"I see too much order in the universe to believe this could have been accidental." Albert Einstein's reply when asked how he could believe in a Creator.

second in power? naaahhh...
they are equal in power, but in different dimensions and time...
"if you have seen me, you have seen the father...Jesus said"
Jesus then, was God in human form. How did it happen? well, He is God...

Psalm 110:1 "
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool"
Matthew 26:64
"Jesus said unto him,Thou has said: nevertheless I say unto you, hereafter shall ye see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven"

Hi! Jesus, the "firstborn of all creation", the only begotten" and straight out from the Father, so close in essence, substance and character, He can impart God's Presence (Holy Spirit, said "the Father is greater than I. They are both one and two. All these years, there really shouldn't even be an argument the church has had for so long..

I love this topic! As it is so misunderstood! That Jesus, the "firstborn of all creation", the "only begotten of the Father", the only straight out from God, so close as to be one in essence, substance and character (all others "through Him") that He too can impart God's Holy Spirit/Presence. In the plant and animal kingdoms there are many, but in the God Kingdom there is the Father and Son (three if we consider God's Presence/Holy Spirit). They are both one and two, and Jesus did say "the Father is greater than I".
