I used to live close to the capital city of my home country. Now I live about five hours from it. When I fly off on a trip overseas I usually have to fly from one of the London Airports. My home country has regional airports but my local one doesn't handle long haul flights. On my travels I have visited some of the capital cities like Paris, Brussels, De Hague, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Prague, Budapest, Athens and Vienna. In Asia the capitals that I have been to have been Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. I have been to Wellington the capital of New New Zealand.
Do you live near or far from your home country's capital city?
Which of the world's capital cities have you visited?

I have also lived in a small town called Assens. It pretty far away from the Danish capital, which is Copenhagen. About 2-3 hours in car.
I have not visited many Capitals in my life, but I'm only 16 years old, so it will come later, because I really want to visit some others.
Here are the capitals I've been to:
Copenhagen: I have been there several times, since it's my own country's capital.
London: I was there in 2009 with my school. I think it's a great city with a lot of possibilities. I saw some of the museums, theatres and the shopping streets.
Paris: I have been there 2 times with my family. It's my favourite city in the world, and I think it's very important, and it's not the last time, I have visited Paris.
Prague: I was there in 2010 again together with my shcool. It was also a nice trip, but I only was there one day, so I didn't see much of the city.

I grew up in a small town which was an hour and half plane ride away from the capital. So when I got to working and needed to go to different countries, I had to go to the capital.
I currently live half way around the world from my home town. I've heard that the airport in the city from where I grew up has been upgraded to an international airport. Although it still doesn't have a direct flight here, it does have flights to other international cities adjacent to my hometown-city.

I grew up outside India....in Kuwait and the country was a small one.
In India, I've never stayed close to the capital city which is in the northern part of India. I've stayed in 2 states in South India. When I travel overseas, we need to go to Mumbai first (not necessarily Delhi which is the country capital). I've never stayed near Mumbai either.
I've visited a few small countries where it's not difficult to visit the capital city. Besides those countries, I've been to Cairo and Accra (Ghana)

I am bout 3 hrs away from London so it is never ideal for me to have to do a London flight but, I don't mind doing it at all as I love flying and would be happy to take a domestic down there! Lol x

I have visited Copenhagen many times, it takes some hours to get from my home to Copenhagen. My home is not on same island as Copenhagen, but there is a bridge between the two islands and it is easy to drive there. I have also visited many of the other capitals in Europe: Stockholm, Helsinki, London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Warsaw, Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Prague, Bratislava, Budapest, Bukarest and Sofia. In Greece, Spain and Norway I have visited other places than the capital, but Athens, Madrid and Oslo are on the list of places that I would like to visit one day.

I live in my state's capital, but about as far from the country's capital as you can be without being in Alaska or Hawaii. Sacramento airport is a pretty decent one, but for international flights it's better to go to San Francisco.
Let's see, I've been to London, Bonn (when it was still capital), Berlin, Paris, Vienna, Prague, Quito, DC, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Luxembourg city, Rome, The Vatican, Monaco, Bern (just the train station) and Dublin.

Hello Maximax8! I used to live just like you close to the capital city of my country. Now I live about 4 hours from it. And just like you when I fly off I have to go to the México´s City main airport. I´ve just visited Buenos Aires, La Habana and Paris. And if God allows it to me, I´ll be on London and Lisbon next May... Blessings!... Dainy

Philippine is an archipelago, so many islands, its what the whole country is comprised of..7000 something islands..anyways, i live in Zamboanga that is like in the Southern part of the county. The capital is in the northern part, Manila. if we travel it by plane that will be like 2 hours away but if through ships, some still travel through ships, it takes like 2 days..so we would rather take the plane

I was born and have lived most of my life in my country´s capital city. I know many capital cities of the world. In America I have been to Buenos Aires, Lima, La Paz, Bogotá, Ciudad de México, Ciudad de Panamá and Washington DC. In Europe I have been to Madrid, Paris, London, Brussels, Vienna, Rome, Geneve, Bugdapest and many others. I have not gone to either Asia nor Africa or Australia so I don´t know any capitals of those continents.

I am glad that you were smart enough not to include Sydney in that list. Most people assume that Sydney is the capital of Australia for some reason. I live a long way from our capital, Canberra, but was there in January for a couple of nights on my way home from a camping trip.
Outside of Australia, I have only ever been to Beijing, London and Edinburgh as far as capital cities of countries go. I have been to Paris twice as well, but did not leave the airport both times. I absolutely loved London and Edinburgh was amazing, but Beijing was a real eye opener for me as it was my first stop in Asia and completely different to any other place that I had ever been.

I live in our country's capital which is Manila. I only have the chance to visit capitals of Asian countries such as Singapore, Hongkong, Beijing, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Saigon, Bangkok and Macau. Hopefully this year I can go to Seoul and Vientianne.
