Worried School Food Snacks

I reads the news from Head of Drug and Food Control Agency (BPOM), Kustantinah, said about 40-45 percent of school children food snacks contain hazardous materials.
Based on BPOM research, about 40-45 percent of all samples tested was caught using dangerous chemicals or do not meet health requirements. Hazardous chemicals include preservatives such as formaldehyde and borax, and coloring materials such as rhodamine B and methanil yellow.
She said the impact eating hazardous chemical will not directly. Dangerous substances''will accumulate in the accumulation in the organs of the body may take the next decades was that arise in the form of the disease,''said Kustantinah.
Hazardous chemicals continue to be used in food because the material is sold freely in the store chemicals. He said the supervision of shop chemicals not authorized BPOM, but are under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce.
How do you think about this guys think you will ever eat thats cheaps food, if you had child will you allow them to buy thats street snack or bring food from home.

I think tasty food not always related with expensive ingredient because I think fresh ingredient taste better even if just stir fry it. I personally not consume any red meats so I fully depend on vegetable and fish.
I still remember your post about you plant your own chili with I think is a smart move and will greatly saving cost in your kitchen. I think we all love our mom cook not because its expensive but we feel our mom love in it. I think thats your sons must be feel.

Hi Indah!.
I think you are lucky if your child love your home made cooking. So its mean you are creative mom and good cooker. Thats something you had another plus in you because not many people can cook this day. There are so many my friend can not cook because they not force to do it not like my mom, who think a girl has to be able to cook.

Hi rameshchow!.
Isn't thats sad I seed it as slow poisoning the innocent child. We know how kind can be blinded by bright color food because they think its will be delicious. If you ask me its will be not tasty at all because they used to many MSG which will made headache.
Its really sad because if continue like this maybe in future we had so many people who had cancer. I think now there are so many people with canker. I hope my government really make move after seeing this data which I think we already made those kids in danger if we not act as soon as possible.

I ever try cheap ice cream from street seller just as memory of my childhood. But when I try it, its not the same because I can taste thats seamless bitter taste which indicate they used artificial sweetener know as siklamat ( don't know how to write it in English) I threw it away after a first zip. Its better wasting food than get sick.
The bad news I really enjoying ice cream especially its quite hot here right now and the sun made us craving for it. Recently I try to made my own ice cream using real fruit and turn out delicious. Its always require a little bit hard work if I wanna something really delicious.
Rameschow I always wonder are you a girl or man?, where are you study engineering?. sorry for curious question.

Hi Nangisha,
i also worried with all those food snack around my kid's school. we know that some of them may contain preservative, food coloring and MSG.
i give them some pocket money to buy snacks, but i tell them to save the safety food in the cafeteria. i used to make a survey to their school and see which food is save and which one is not. i also teach them to see the ingredients in the snack they bough. i explain them what is the meaning of MSG and the effect for our body, the food color, the additive like aspartame.
those are very danger for kids if they consume it every day

Yeah Ifa I understand your situation with your kids but we will never able to control the seller to use safe ingredient in what they sell. Even cheap drink in cup who had licences from health department contain artificial sweetener thats danger for their health. I always wonder why they allowed thats, its there a big money in licences. I think now choice in our hand because we will feel the consequence if we eat it.

i also wonder why they give the license to that company. we know that young generation is living in danger, they ruin their own country.
maybe that is why our country have been stag in development these years. some people are just too greedy and selfish to make them self rich without thinking other.

I have not had children. However, I have a nephew. I also worry, if my nephew eating unhealthy snacks. I never bought my nephew, an unhealthy snack. Incidentally, my nephew does not like snacks.

I think we all worried because we always need to pay attention the food label eery consume it. Even there are so many drink who had register in POM used danger artificial sweeter like siklamat, its widely know can cause can cancer in long term used and in many country already banned.
I mean its the are many time is our health minister complain how big is our health bill thats they need to pay. I mean its will getting bigger if they not pay attention to this danger ingredient they allowed to use in our food. I hope they given wisdom to prevent this continues happen.

I think the issue of School Food Snacks has been there since long ago.
It raise now because of other issues which were talk lately.
The point is, if I had had any child, I wouldn't allow them to buy any untrusted snack food. I prefer to bring them lunch box from home. Just to avoid their lust to buy those things.

Hi Eric!.
Yeah its has been a long issue but seem the government seem not doing any thing to prevent this thing happen again. Its our future generation they allowed to slowly poisoned with out making controlling thats danger ingredient.
I think I would do the same with you with my future child. I hope I will had time and creativity to boost their eating appetite. Because when I see my cousin they were picky eater and only want to it certain food.

I also feel worried about it. when I see the food being sold too flashy colors I'm sure that it contains a lot of food coloring. it would be wise if there are restrictions on the use of chemicals in food.

When I was child i remember how I fond those kind of drink and es mambo. So I think I had thats chemical in my body also. Its quite hard to run a healthy life if we had limited money like buying organic vegetable with out pesticide.
I think restriction will be good solution because you see how those chemical sold for free. I think its will be much easier if textile coloring not sell in small package so they must buy in bulk so not many people had access into it.
In our country really week in controlling and monitoring because the number of violation is big. I think if children has been poisoned with danger food how will be our future.I believe government has to ready to increase health bill in future because many disease will erupt by consumption of this danger food in future. I think if our government really concern about prevention maybe its will save a lot of money.
