Rising gas price would hurt the traveling business as well?

So, as you all notice the rising price on the gasoline day by day, you might as well predict that this summer might be the hardest one to deal with. You might not want to go out that much, or you might even planning on carpool instead of driving your car the whole week back and forth from work. This summer, the gas price might hurt the traveling business as well, because the ticket price will be higher. We won't want to pay extra to fly, nor we can't pay too much by driving either. Given this fact, how many of you already planning on traveling, but this factor won't affect you?

I would think that soaring fuel prices would have an effect on everyone. If your job gave you a lot of travel opportunities, it could be even more of a burden. When fuel prices go up but your income doesnt, it can certainly make for struggle. I dont know how some people who work and travel make ends meet.

That is why. People are already planning on carpool, or other way to save extra money for it. We can't sustain ourselves with this soaring price keep going up and up. We have to make a plan to reduce all the expenses.

Like everybody else, we are dreading the summer with the higher gas prices. But, we already have our trip planned for Florida to visit the in-laws. Probably when we get back, we will just avoid going so many times at the store (like what I do now..lol) Also, our car is good with gas so am happy with it.

lucky you. I might not be able to go anywhere during the summer. So, except work, and visiting the stores for the food, nowhere I actually want to go this summer though. I hope the gas price will drop a little at least.

Petrol costs are rising so people don't like going to the petrol station to fill up with more fuel because is costs so very much. Bus fares have gone up due to the rising cost of fuel for the buses plus coaches. Train fares have always been really expensive and the fare system is challenging to fully understand. Plane travel costs loads and some planes are half empty due to less passengers. I traveled by train to the airport on a ticket I bought in advance. Then I flew from London to Cartagena De Indias. I was with my son and my daughter. I will still travel but it costs way too much. Business travelers are also likely to be affected.

Gas prices normally go up during the summer anyway, due to companies knowing that is when most people take vacations, and a lot of them drive. So with the price already on the climb I'm afraid you are right, it will be terrible. However, my daughter is already planning to drive here this summer, and I'll probably be taking a trip or two late in the summer as well as in November. Hopefully, by November the price will have come down at least a little. Most people take into consideration the added expense of increased fuel. I always check mapquest or gasbuddy, to find the least expensive fuel stops along my route when I travel.

Hi king,
I don't travel much anyway. My daily routine consists of walking a few blocks to and from work and nothing more. However, you may be right in predicting higher prices for the transportation sector and that includes cost of shipment of commodity items such as foodstuffs, clothing, and the like.
I always dread fuel price increases for it causes a ripple effect on the downline costs of almost all items I buy, especially food. I think we should be more serious in addressing more viable and sensible alternative energy sources other than what we have for the past hundred years.
I ever I had to travel far, I may consider the lowest priced public conveyance available even if it may cost me time on the process.

I have actually planned two vacations so far this year but the prices werent as high when i planned for them and since they are paid for i will be traveling and going even with gas prices on the rise again this summer.
I will be going to Universal in Orlando on the 18th of this month and at the end of may will be traveling to the caribbean on a cruise so not to much i can do if they are paid for already. But we do have another trip we have to do in July for a wedding and not sure when this will take in affect to me but we live in FL and the wedding is in WV so not sure if we are flying or driving yet but hopefully we will figure it out soon and make our mind up.

I'm not planning to travel, but my parents are. They have this huge cross-country vacation they've been planning for months so I don't think they will cancel it, but the gas prices might deter a few of their stops.
I feel sorry for summer tourist spots like San Diego, Yellow Stone Park, Orlando and Miami. I wonder how this is going to affect these areas.

I have seen it when March came. I was booking 4 passengers from Manila to New York. Last week I quoted the fare with the taxes and I was surprised that last Tuesday it seems that there is an increase of USD30 with the fuel surcharge. I hurriedly called my client to inform them about the increase. As for my day to day living, it would really affect me. Maybe it is time for me to walk from my house to the entrance of my village and vice versa instead of taking a tricycle. hehehe...
