Safe investments

March 2, 2011 5:06pm CST
I'm currently looking for a safe investment and was wondering if anyone knew of any sound places with a decent potential of return I'm realistic with todays economy but I have money lying around and wanted to get an idea of the safest places in todays market. The only place I've really considered safe is my local credit union so anything else is a new idea for, so any ideas are welcome .

What is this site? How does it work. I'm essentially looking for a reliable investment business or site bear in mind I'm not talking about an online earner where you invest.

I'm looking for a long term investment site with a limited amount of risk I never dismissed your advice I simply asked for more information on the site. Then finally gave an idea of what I'm looking for so I don't know how you've managed to get the opinion that I've shrugged off your advice .

The safest way is always going to be a bank account / bond that gives a fixed rate of interest over a number years, although return is usually low, however, it is very safe...

Yeah I was thinking that as it is the safest of all avenues I guess but getting a good return could be quite hard. I've also considered buying shares but I think i'd need some help in where to invest on such a matter (more money ). Whilst I might put it into my local/home credit union as I'll have no chance of taking money out as I'm away most of the time .

Its very hard these days, I don't think anything is 100% when you want a decent return as I learnt the more return the bigger the risk so sometimes it is better to just have a small return.

I have been thinking about this a lot recently and no ideas really spring to my mind but the credit union back home whislt it won't make me a fortune I also live in Liverpool so I know at least if it's in the credit union (back home at my hometown in Ireland ) I can't touch it (rather waste it on things I don't need ) So maybe best just locking it up somewhere until the market improves although as long as I made a small return I think I'd be happy enough as long as the investment was too risky .
