Do the world really need another Superman movie?

Diane Lane was recently cast to play Martha Kent, Clark Kent/Superman's adoptive mother in the upcoming reboot of "Superman". Personally, I've never cared much for that particular superhero. It's not the from-out-of-space or superpowers thing I object to, but rather the fact that, give a guy a new hairdo and stick a pair of thick-rimmed glasses on his nose, and nobody recognizes him. Silly, really. What do you think?

It's kinda that old "Do you take this man"/tuxedo principle (if the groom chickens-out, all the tuxedoed guys take one step to the left and no one's the wiser ). Superman is really the way atheists understand Jesus Christ (He came to save the people of Earth, and so became one of us )

I think the reasons as to why they make new superman movies is because they want to keep the legacy of superman alive especially to the new generation of kids. As we get older we forget how good certain things were and I think it's necessary to make Superman movies for the kids of our future's sake.
