Have any Formula one fans read Eclestones idea on introducing an artificial rain on tracks at certain stage's of the race ? What do you think of this idea? I myself initially thought that it was crazy idea but then really though about it if it increase overtaking then I'd be all for as after all overtaking is excitement . I do doubt that the idea will ever be implemented though unfortunately .
Heres the story

I have not heard of this idea and have not been in the loop regarding Formula One lately to be honest. I sort of lost interest once all my favorite drivers started leaving. Even though Schumi's back, it's still not the same as the Formula One that I grew up with... or that my dad grew up with for that matter.
The rain might provide some additional entertainment and excitement and even perhaps make the outcome a little less predictable in some cases - might help (albeit not by much) make actual driving skill more distinguishable from merely who has the more powerful car. Speaking of Michael Schumacher and rain Spa 1995 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcGBGzmAhpc) is probably one of the most exciting races I can remember.

I myself was a big fan of Schumacher of old but I do believe the sport is better now than what it was a few years ago with it being Schumacher sport for years and frankly no one ever seemed to come close .
I do think the sport has got slightly less entertaining though with Schumacher of old being brilliant at overtaking even coming from the back of the field to win in the end but in terms of championship excitement we see four or five drivers potentially going for the championship .
I do think this artificial rain would show the true quality of each individual driver though so I hope it is implemented but doubt it will be. Formula one in the rain usually adds a nice sense of an unpredictable outcome so I do think it could only benefit the sport .

I thought this is a bad idea. It's so good to wait (or not) for the rain in the cloudy gp. All this would disappeared if the idea will be adopted.
I'm totally against this idea.

I really like the idea as long as in results in more entertainment yeah the race will be more articicial in a way but with all the sfatey restrictions at the minute I find a lot of races tend to be boring . I do understand the need for an unpredictable race but wouldn't artificial rain offer that? I think it would I do think this idea is at least a good step forward in improving the entertainment value of Formula one once again even if this isn't the correct idea .
