Age is not an excuse.

I was reading about Uruguay and came across the painter Pedro Figari. He became a famous painter at the age of 60! He lived in Paris for 12 years after he started art. How do you plan to live your life as you grow older? Will age make you stop living or will you keep challenging new things? Why?

Well, if I get the chance to grow old and be an old man, then I'd probably like to live life at its fullest, seeing as I'd have little of it left in me. You know, skydiving, white-water rafting, skiing in the Alps. Oooh yeah.

I'm not to keen on keep new challenges. Rather I would try to give the best for others, when I grew older and older. I just don't want to be a burden for my future children, grand children and people around me. That's it.

Lore-
I try to learn something new all the time. I just took up painting with acrylics and my first piece was just completed yesterday. I found it relaxing and a great deal of fun! I think that the more we challenge ourselves the more we stay young!

I plan to be as active as my brain and my body will allow me. I will not allow stigmas and society to slow me down. So as long as my brain and body cooperates.
It may be at a slower pace, but still I do not plant to await my last days, I would rather they happen at it's due time.

Shows are going great! The weather OMG, it snowed today, and I am sitting in our apartment frozen right now.

I will be thankful if I reach the age of 60. Many of my male relatives die at a younger age so I am quite scared that I might not make it til that age. But if I do, I will try to live an active lifestyle and of course do what I love best which is to travel. hehehe...

Just because your getting older shouldn't have anything to do with it, you are still alive so you need to live. They say the older you are the slower you are, therefore you should move faster to experience more.

You make an outstanding point about age. I may well stumble upon something amazing, a new and hidden talent, when I am in my 60's. Who knows? I am not going to let my age slow me down, if there is something new and interesting to be done in this world.

That just proves that life is not over until its over. Where there is life, there is opportunity. I think that until we draw our very last breath, people should make an effort to live life to its fullest. Therefore, that is what I plan on doing. Now should I live to an older age, I would like to attempt to live life to the fullest. Now granted, there might be things that might be blocking me but that is no excuse not trying.
Really when you think about it, age is just an indicator of how many years you have been alive. It is no barrier for some people. I have seen some seventy or eighty year old people who live lives that really do put many, many younger people to shame for sure. Still until the end, you've got to live every moment of life completely out, because you never know how many more you might have left. Life is fragile as it can conclude at any time. So live to its fullest while you can.

As early as now, i am already planning my retirement with my husband. But i hope my husband will like my idea of it. I haven't discussed it yet with him.
I plan to have our retirement days in our hometown, where the sea is just 5 blocks away. We could always go walking by the beach , in the morning and in the afternoon.
My friends who will also be retiring from being abroad , will also stay there. For sure our retirement will be fun because we shall all be in one hometown where we could meet anytime we like.

Well.. it's never too late. Life has a lot to offer and we don't have all the time to do that. So as I grow older, I want to do things that I've never done before. Live with my family, live happily, and learn.

I admire the painter who you have said.He is just what is called great minds mature slowly.I feel quite ashamed as compared with him.Although it is never too late to study, but I lack of willpower so I get nowhere.

I am glad to hear that. Actually everybody has a dream. We may not have time to fulfill it when we are young. Since we have to work and take care of our family. When we grow old and retire, then we shall have more time for our own interests.
