There are multiple reasons
Some possibilities are
1.Nutritional deficiancy
2.Seasonal/climate change
3.Hormonal
4.Reproductive condition of your animal in case of female
5.Skin disease-fungal,mite infestation etc....
6. Allergic
And many more...
If hair lose is severe with itching or rashes then you have to consult your veterinarian.
Skin disease require close examination for its diagnosis.
If you have more doubts regarding pets/ animals feel free to write to me.

One reason a dog would be losing it hearing might be do to old age. If your dogs hearing isn't what it use to be maybe you should consider purchasing a disaster whistle and condition it at a recall cue, by pairing its sound with high-value treats.

It could be multiple reasons. One of mine was scratching and chewing all of it off because of allergies to pollen. Another possibility is old age...they go through the same things we do. Arthritis, go deaf, go blind, get gray hair...and lose hair. If it seems to be a problem, consult a vet but if your dog is old, that is most likely the case.
