Hi there!
I'm a newbie when it comes to freelance writing. I've written for two writing sites already which give me descent pay just months ago. But as i searched the internet, one of the freelance writing site that i've been working with turns out to be a scam according to others. So far, i have not experienced anything bad yet.
Well, just in case something really bad happens, i'd like to know some legitimate freelance writing sites that i can work with so i can have extra income and also to warn others about freelance writing scams.
I'll appreciate any help. Thank you.

Dooyoo, Ciao, Igougo work well for reviews. Depending on where you are, they might only offer you Amazon vouchers though. Helium is a good site, you can write articles that are needed for a couple of $ up to around a $100 if it's accepted and they also have an earnings system based on shared revenue, so if you have a lot of work this is something worth looking at for a passive income, although certain standards have to be met obviously.
I've used Hubpages, which hasn't really earnt me a great deal but perhaps I'm not writing on popular enough topics.

Hi guys I need freelance writers. Pay is 3 dollars per 500 words through paypal every two weeks. I always pay on time. However, you have to be a really good writer. Send your samples and CV to christopherdavid369@yahoo.com. I'll try to respond to everyone.

Add Factoidz to the list of legitimate writing sites. You have to be approved (pass a writing test) and then each of your articles have to be approved until they decide that you're "staff" material, then you can publish at will. They only pay page views, but if you work at it, you can do pretty good there.

Hello, Jenne, and welcome to MyLot. I don't know which sites you've been writing for, but I write for Helium. I've been a member there for more than three years, and they are very good at paying for content and providing feedback. There's also a good support network there for writers. It's the only writing site I bother with these days.

The one I have the most success with is Triond. I earn over 50 dollars a month from them, passively. :D Check my profile for the link, or you can just go straight to the site, if you like.
Just out of curiosity, which site did you hear was a scam???

I have generated several types of site lists and posted them on various pages of my website at write2earn.net. It is a place for newbie freelance writers and is the result of my mentoring activities with writer wannabees ... who now are writers. Please help yourself to the information I have culled from the internet during the past year. It is all free and available to everyone who needs the information. The sites are updated weekly and I encourage visitors to go directly to writer guidelines to ensure that you and the site "fit" together. Besides the "good" sites, I have also listed sites for writers to avoid.
Be aware that some people will complain about the most insignificant aspects of an experience because they need to vent their frustrations to everybody. I'm not one of them. Try searching out keywords such as "writing sites - complaints" or RipOff.com where more than one person is giving an account of an individual site experience. Please don't use the term SCAM lightly as some very sensitive site owners may take offense and charge you with something.

I don't do a lot of writing but I've submitted a few articles to Associated Content. Yahoo runs it now so it's legit. I don't know what the pay is like now. I haven't actually tried these but a few other sites I know of are Constant Content, Helium, and Text Brokers.
