If atheist have no bible to believe and there is no God to believe, then what are their principle in life? What are their guidelines they have to follow? I believe that atheists are good and not all of them are bad. It is the same as christians. Not all christians are good and not all christians are bad, but I was thinking of how they live a life to the fullest? Is it just a human instinct? Or they're just using their conscience to know what is good and bad in the society?

Atheists do not need some writings from some desert dwellers that were trying to get their followers to commit genocide and betray their allies. Or from a Jewish convert seeking to establish it authority on a new religion. Our principles are the same as any other humans to do and much good as we can and as little harm as possible. Unlike many christian leaders who have tortured and murdered in the most horrible ways people who's only offence was to disagree with them no atheist has ever burnt someone alive simply because the did not agree but many christians have.So who are the evil ones here and what are their principles in life?

I don't see why so many people find it hard to imagine how atheists think. when you do something good to help someone, why do you do it? be honest with yourself here. do you do it because you want brownie points from a higher power or do you do it because you want to help someone and make their life better? because if the only reason you do something good is because of your religion, then you're not REALLY a good person.

I fully agree with this! Isn't the question if someone leads a moraly right and helpful life? If someone does so only to please their God those acts are questionable in my eyes compared to someone who does the same because their heart tells them so. Of course this can apply to all religions, no matter if Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Pagan,... or whatever else, or Atheism.

absolutely. I'm Pagan myself. I don't think that having a religion means I am better or more moral than people that don't, it just means that we both have different views on the way the universe works. but that doesn't mean I'm better, or they're better. it just means we have different ideas. but we're equal as human beings, and equally capable of doing good or doing harm.

Atheist do not believe in God or religion, or anything. They just don't believe in anything religious at all. They believe more in science and logic than they do in anything have to do with religion.

It is plain to see that Atheists do not believe in God. Still, they have to believe in some force to guide their lives. Perhaps just belief in themselves is all they think they will need to get by in this world.

I am agnostic. I do not deny there being a higher being but I do not need a higher being either. I try to live my life not for some fabled or unattainable after life or but to leave the world a slightly better place when I am gone than it was when I was born. I believe in helping my fellow man. I treat people like I want to be treated and hope that the same is true of everyone I meet. The golden rule is not religion specific.

Principle of Atheisms, just to be a contraries to any principles of others who believe on invincible science. Especially on God principles physically, mentally, psychologically, spiritually, knowledge and wisdom. It doesn't matter who's who are hypocrite or ignorant as long as it keeps on denying others. That's why Atheist are more anti-social, poor-me then to better-than-me, more closed minded, individualism, anti-development. Doomed to what happened or to the history of mankind as if it is no hope at all.

I am neither a Christian nor an Atheist, but I can tell right from wrong just as well as any God-fearing Christian. My Higher Self tells me right from wrong, and keeps me close to God. Another way to think of it is Conscience. Everybody has one and it matters not if you are Religious or Atheist, you will always do the right thing as long as you listen to your conscience!

Hi IntroverShy, Atheists hold that the concept of God is absent. They deliberately thinks that what people term as God is nothing but a hypothesis. Regarding people who have never been exposed to the concept of 'god': Whether they are 'atheists' or not is a matter of debate. Since you're unlikely to meet anyone who has never encountered religion, it's not a very important debate. One thing is for sure that they - the atheist do not hate the theist. For them it is a way of thinking and there is no partiality concept that theist would be placed in heaven and atheist in hell. The core thing is that atheist do not believe the existence of God.
