What do you like Fruits or Vitamins?

When I was a kid my mom don't really give us any kinds of vitamins, rather she always give us different kind of fruits and drink lots of fruit juices and of course milk. And in that way we are always healthy except those times when are caught of fever from always playing outside and swimming on the beach, as we did every day.

I eat berries and drink a lot of orange juice, but I take several vitimins on a daily basis. I find it a lot easier to swollow a few pills than trying to find the time to eat fruit.
As I am lactose intollerant I never touch milk or milk products, so all my life I have need to get calcium from a different source. So, with a mix of vitimins along with fruit, vegetables and orange juice I manage to stay fit, health and feeling good.

All my friends often say how unlucky I am not to ever have tried cream cakes, ice cream, etc. But being lactose intol. since birth, it is more a case of what you never had you never missed. The biggest problem is going to a restaurant and choosing food that doesn't have a cream based sauce, normally the options are pretty limited. Still...
As for the vitimins and their tastes, I know what you mean about them lingering but I must say I love the taste of vitimin C. and at least it is an alternative way of getting calcium into the body.

It must be hard for you being lactose intolerant as you can't eat those yummy foods such as ice cream and other dairy products. You're right sometimes it's easier to shallow those pieces of vitamins than take fruits especially when you are in hurry. But what I don't like about most of the vitamins is the taste and sometimes after a while still the taste linger on your taste buds.

I would prefer fruits to vitamins but vitamins can also help. My parents used to give me more vitamins than fruits when I was younger but now, I know better that's why I am eating more fruits every day. It's always best to depend on natural vitamins than the artificial ones and by natural vitamins, I'm referring to the vitamins we get from fruits and vegetables.

I agree with you, natural vitamins which comes from fruits and vegetables were better than taking prescribe vitamins. Because natural vitamins has wide scope when it comes to maintaining healthy body and of course it has no side effects which in the long run will gives us healthy body and mind.

I try to eat lots of fruit and vegies but I am not that fond of some of the vegies I should be eating unless thay are covered in some sort of sauce, I do have fruit juice which is nice but I know I should eat more vegies.

Fruits or fruit juices and vegetables were good for our health and we needed it as well than taking all those different kinds of vitamins. I like fruit juices but I always make sure it's fresh fruit juices and not concentrated because it can be unhealthy, so better have with water than concentrated fruit juice.

My mother also never give vitamins to me, but my mom always prepare nutritious foods, and foods that contain vitamins, for her children. In addition to fruit, my mother is also preparing vegetables. I also very rarely sick. Luckily we were really like fruits and vegetables, probably because we've been accustomed by mothers, to eat fruit and vegetables, so we do not reject, if provided fruit and vegetables.

Your mom is the same with my mom and of course they're good mother always giving what's best. I always remember when we were kids every time we didn't like eating vegetables she always do something to make us eat with it. And now we appreciate more what she has done for us and that's what we did to our kids nowadays.

For me fruits, i really love eating fruits instead of taking some vitamins. But my mom said i should take some vitamins to have a good health.

There are those times that it's important for us to take vitamins as sometimes we tend to eat lots of unhealthy foods, such as those in fast food restaurant which is not good for our health so we need to take some vitamins to compensate what's needed in our body to keep it healthy. My mom don't really advice me to take vitamins rather to eat healthy foods and live a healthy lifestyle that's is taking exercise and have enough time to sleep.

You're right, fruits and vegetables were all natural and that's why it's always good for our body no matter how plenty you eat,compared to taking vitamins. My doctors always advice me to eat lots of fruits especially when I am stress and can't sleep because fruits, milk and vegetables really work.

Hi. ganza_lovers. Welcome to myLot! I would prefer fruits over vitamins. I feel like I am getting my entire fruit intake when I eat fruits. The vitamins only act as an supplement. So, I would rather eat fruits because it will give me 100% total of my nutrition.

Not really a fruit person, but I do like to eat fuit if I am in the tropics on holiday. Over there they seem to have better choice and the flavours are so much tastier. Here I only really like Strawberries, however, I do like fruit in desserts, like apple pie or crumble, gooseberry or rhubarb tart, etc.
As for vitimins I take them daily and have done for the last 5 years. Whether they make any difference I am not too sure but a couple of tiny pills swallowed daily can't do any harm.

My mom gave me vitamins when I was young. But now I'm grown-up, I hardly take vitamins. I can start taking but as the day goes by, I simply forget to take them. I take them again if I feel like taking them. But most of the time, I eat a lot of fruits. We always have fruits in our house. I'd rather spend on them more than with vitamins.

I like Fresh Fruits rather than taking vitamins. You know what? Fresh fruits have a lots of benefits compared of taking vitamins from a tablets or syrups. I love the taste of sweet fruits and also fresh garden vegetables. they can be enjoyed as a salad or by themselves unlike just taking vitamins. Fresh fruits contain antioxidants that help prevent cancer, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure that you cannot get from synthetic vitamins. you can also control your weight by eating fresh fruits because they are naturally low in calories, eating plenty of fresh fruits is an excellent way to maintain a healthy weight. In addition to, Fresh fruit contain lots of fiber to helps to regulate the digestive system and cleanse the arteries from unwanted plaque build up. Fresh fruits also good in teeth because crunchy fruits such as apples helps to rid the teeth of excess plaque and exercises the gums to prevent from gum disease. in the other hand, Taking synthetic vitamins couldn't give you such benefits i have mentioned above compared to what you can get from fresh fruits. Your mom made a right choice! God Bless
