Embattled TV star Charlie Sheen is set to leave his troubles behind and join pal Sean Penn in Haiti as part of an aid trip. Penn has reached out to the actor amid his ongoing personal and professional battles in recent days and now Sheen is jetting off to Haiti to boost publicity for the Oscar winner's year-old mission to help the desperate and homeless survivors of last year's devastating earthquake. The Two and a Half Men hopes to boost publicity for Penn's JP Haitian Relief Organization, which the movie star set up in the aftermath of last year's earthquake. In a call to news show Access Hollywood Live on Friday, Sheen confirmed he's heading to Haiti next week. He revealed, "We have to do a couple of things first and then it looks like we're heading down. "I'm excited as hell because if I can bring the attention of the world down there then clearly the tsunami (of his celebrity) keeps crashing." Sheen has been a regular fixture on TV and radio in America this week during a media blitz following news the producers of his hit sitcom Two and a Half Men had cancelled the remainder of the show's eighth season after the actor publicly berated writer/creator Chuck Lorre. http://www.torontosun.com/entertainment/celebrities/2011/03/04/17497431-wenn-story.html I feel bad for all the people he put out of work because of his craziness. Well some of them have a lot of money so maybe I don't feel that bad for some of them. Maybe this trip will help him. He needs a reality check. Maybe seeing people really suffer and helping those less fortunate than himself can change his focus to realize the world doesn't revolve around him and his wants.

Sometimes seeing how other people live is the reality check needed. Hopefully that is what will happen for Charlie Sheen. He seems like such a lost cause with all his ranting and refusal of help, even criticizing his own father. Hopefully this trip will be the kick in the head he needs.

Time will tell. Maybe we'll hear about it in a couple of weeks.

I wonder, though. Last night he started he new online program on U-Stream called "Sheen's Korner". He hopes to do it every day. He won't be able to do that if he is going to Haiti. So I'm wondering... is he actually going to Haiti? By the way, I watched/listened to it. It's juvenile.

He sounds so desperate for attention. He just needs to go out quietly, get some therapy then come back in about six months from now when he is better. I don't know what he thinks he has to prove.

I know how everybody looks at Charlie Sheen and thinks he's on a spiral staircase down to the loony bin. However, I look at it another way. I feel Charlie Sheen is the winner here, he's literally taking all the media exposure and using it to his advantage. He obviously has the money so there's no problem with that, but now with the exposure he's going to be making even more money. He's really turning into his character on the tv show. Good for him.

I think it's probably going to backfire on him it's not like he's got another show lined up but who knows. He got fired today. It's not like he actually has to work. Look at his brother Emilio he hasn't been in anything for a long time.
