Do you brush your hair before you go to bed?

Should we brush our hair before we go to bed and not in the morning? That's what I've heard anyway. Apparently, brushing our hair at night before we go to bed helps to stimulate the blood circulation in our heads, and not to brush it in the morning as it makes it less shiny? Can anyone make sense of this...? I actually brush my hair less and less now although I have long hair - my hair is usually quite manageable (doesn't really get tangled up) - but is it bad not to brush your hair also...?

I brush my hair before I go to bed because I want to wake up in the morning with knots in my hair. But, I don't brush it every morning just because I know it's not good to brush your hair that much because little pieces of your hair might fall out.

Pretty scary when clumps of it start falling out (!) I always try to brush it in the morning as I need to, but I always find after brushing my hair loses the shine that it built up overnight...

I very rarely brush my hair before bed as i normally have it in a ponytail and just redo it in the morning

I have my hair tied back during the day a lot, so I think s probably why mine isn't such a mess generally. I couldn't have it tied up when going to bed, t just feels so distracting and uncomfortable...

Brush your hair at night before you go to bed, and then not in the morning before you go somewhere? Not sure I would agree with this one. Personally would you hair not be more tangled that way? Many people like me toss and turn all night when they are sleeping and such to where it would look frizzy and unmanageable but I guess then it is to each their own?

i do not brush my hair when i go to sleep, i tend to forget, maybe because i am to tired to even do it... i brush when i wake up though, but i want to make sure to brush my hair after sleeping and before, so that it will have less tangles, and there will be less hairfall. to make in order all.

I think it is better to brush the hair before going to bed. I have very long hair so it will turn into a mess when I wake up in the morning, I sometimes tie it to a ponytail to sleep but my head doens't feel comfortable and the hairs feels like it can relax so I don't do that anymore. I'm lazy about though, I only brush or or comb it every other day which I should do it eveyday to keep it look goo...

I've tried a few times to brush my hair before going to sleep and I seem to sleep better, though I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence...

Hi, Last time i used to comb my hair before going to sleep. But now I hardly do it and instead i tie up my hair while going to bed.I do have a long hair and it is more easy to manage by tying them up. I plan to get my hair rebond,so that it is much more easier to manage and basically I don't need to comb my hair,it will looks straight and smooth.

Sounds a cool idea - is 'rebonding' the same as having hair extensions?

I used to comb my hair religiously before going to bed for sometime. But somehow I cannot maintain the practice now a days. Yeah I have heard about increasing the circulation if we do so. But don't know that it makes less shiny if hair is brushed in the morning.

Hi. Bellapop. No. I don't hardly brush my hair before going to bed. I do have very long hair and I love massaging it at night before laying down. I love washing my hair at night, so that when I go to sleep, it will feel so good against my hair bonnet. When I do brush my hair at night, it is only when I have already washed it.

I rarely brush my hair as it doesn't need it. My hair at the moment is a long pixie cut (it needs cutting). Therefore my hair looks fine morning and night as long as it is clean and some wayward strands straightened into place. I have never had a problem with knots in my hair since getting my hair cut this short.

I have seen many people in movies and television brushing their hair before they go to bed. This is not something that i do. i dont really see the need for it. your hair is just going to get messed up while you sleep anyway. It can wait for the morning.

Yes, I brush my hair at night. It helps remove some dirt as they say and also helps with the circulation of the blood. Also it helps make my hair a little softer and smoother. But the thing where you don't brush the hair in the morning, well, I've never heard about it. What I know though is that it isn't advisable to brush the hair after taking a bath because hair is brittle when wet.

I seldom brush my hair at night. I usually brush them often the whole day and it makes my hair shiny. They say it's good to do 100 brush strokes on your hair before you go to sleep. I did that before and it felt relaxing as you go to sleep. But now, I can't count anymore up to 100 because I already get sleepy. LOL So sometimes I forget to brush my hair. But it's really good if you do it before bedtime.

for me, brushing my hair is just ordinary. i do it whenever i'm done in the shower, after shampooing and everytime i have to go out, after waking up in the morning and even at night. am not so sure if it does help the blood circulation, but i just want to keep myself tidy.

Hi Bellapop, as my hair is short and it won't get disturbed anyway, so i usually brush it when i go out, but too much brushing will lead to hair fall it seems i read somewhere, but i think it is bad not to brush your hair even.

ive got long hair and it will tangle easy at times. i use a bit more conditioner to make it easier. then leave it to just about dry before brushing it and putting it in a plait for the nite. and then will tidy it up in the morning and put it in a pony tail. my hair also malts a fair bit which is a real pain in the butt.

Yes I brush my hair every night before I goes to sleep. I don't want to look bad even when I went to sleep. Long hair could get tangled up but for this reason I already cut my hair shoulder length so that it lessen the mess.

I do brush my hair and it does not make a difference for me what time of day or night. At night though because I have very long and thick hair I pin it up so I do not pull on it while I sleep. I do not think there is anything wrong with brushing it at night, I suppose just not too harshly though.
