What do you think of accupuncture? Is it really effective?

Hello mylotters, what do you think of Chinese medicines? Have you ever tried accupuncture? Can it really ease the pain? My mother has this back ache, and we are going to try accupuncture, is this a good idea?

I tried it several years ago for bad sinuses but in all honesty outside of feeling relaxed and falling asleep it did not do a thing for my sinus. I tried several sessions and no changes for me then or to date.

I haven't tried it personally, because I never felt the need to, but I know several people who have tried it, with great results! So I do believe it works, but you need to find a good acupunturist, not all of them are as good. So if you can, try to go to someone who someone else you know can recommend, or who you can find recommendations for otherwise.

Thanks for your advice, I'll ask around to see if anyone I knew or they knew actually did it.
