clixsense toolbar not working

This morning I downloaded and installed the clixsense toolbar. The toolbar is supposed to notify you when you have ads to click on. I hadn't received a single ad by this afternoon, so I clicked on the link, logged in, and found 8 ads waiting for me! The toolbar didn't notify me of the ads! What's going on, is there some setting or configuration I haven't set right? I'm running IE version 8 browser. Anyone else have similar issues?
