Are songs in the early and late 80's more sensible than the songs today?

I think songs from the 80's express more sense and they're more realistic than the songs of today. However,I'm still hearing a lot of songs today that makes sense.. I am not trying to imply that songs of the present time have no sense because I also consider the new generations,they have there own way of interpretation too,and listening to music also depends on someone's mood and the type of music they want to hear..For me, personally I love bossa nove and jazz as well as celtic and classical..
