Has anyone done Catalogue Distribution (Home Shopping)?

I have been working for a home shopping catalogue company for nearly a year now. Even though it's been a year, I did have some time off during winter as I was sick. Now, though, I'm as fit as a fiddle, LOL!
Recently, I was promoted to Area Manager. Yes, this is a good thing as it means that my commission rate will be higher. It's just that now, my distribution area has tripled. Thankfully, the boys are at school so I am able to do the work. It's just that I am finding that I am tiring easily.
So, am wondering, has anyone here at MyLot done (or is doing) home shopping catalogue distribution (think Avon catalogues, it's not Avon though, LOL!)? If so, how did you stay on top of things health wise? I try to eat, I really do, but with so much walking, I'm finding that I am 'forgetting' to - OOPS!

I've tried a few of these types of jobs. All I can say is take your vitamins and stick to them, I wrote myself a simple time table in my organiser to remind me about things I needed to do in the day. Also it might help if you go out with some of your co-workers to see how they set out thier days, you can always phone them to ask. You could always ask your manager if they have any ideas. I'm not sure if the company you work for will allow it, but you could try getting your employees to help you, or you could try paying someone to do some of the more challenging parts of your work. By doing both these things it should help you become more organised and have a bit more time to get things done. The main important thing is your determination and self discipline x

Hi! Thanks for your response. Thankfully, the company that I work will allow me to "hire" my own distributors. The hard part will be finding someone who is reliable ;-)

Maybe a family member or a friend of the family may be more reliable. If thats not an option you can always try the old tried and tested door to door, word of mouth, flyers e.c.t and hope for the best x

Glad that you have a home based job. I was wondering why in my country doesn't have such job as catalogue distributor. As I am having some health problems I think it should suit me well. For health at least you should drink some juices or milk to stay hydrated if you are not eating. Or bring a lot of standby cookies with you if you are hungry then you can eat it.

I used to do catalogue sales years ago, yes. The problem is that, where I live, we are not permitted to go door to door and put things in people's mailboxes unless we have a distribution permit. So, I was restricted to passing out catalogues to family and friends or to people at the office (before I became self-employed). I could not develop enough of a network to make much money at it. Walking is my main form of exercise and I would have loved to have been able to deliver catalogues that way :) Make sure you take plenty of water with you if you're walking a lot... or get one of those hydra packs that you can wear - leaves your hands free to do your work. If you want to take snacks, try a bag of almonds or make your own healthy trail mix ( some of the pre-packaged ones are so sugary ). String cheese/cheese sticks, like kids take in their lunches is great, or an apple, if you have room to carry it.
