Did my cell phone like diving?

I'm never hard on my things,so they can last long.I had to change a new cell phone last year. About one years ago,I went out for a walk with my wife, halfway we met a neighbour washing waternuts by the road.He asked us to have some,so I picked up several to wash in the water when I heard the sound of something falling into water. And then I saw nothing but my cell phone in the water already! It slid out of one of my pockets! I grabbed it out of the water and took home at once, blew it with the fan,but the phone never worked.I had to buy the second cell phone later. Did you have the same experence?

In my accident the handphone will fall out from the fall into the toilet bowl and get mix with miss water and such . Can be salvaged if the handphone is immediately switch off and dry with hairblower and not switch off for sometime to certain sire dry.

They say that you can always dry up a wet cell phone with a hairdryer, but that time i couldn't find one in time,so i had to throw it away.

Not with a cell phone. But I did manage to forget that I had got my digital camera in my trouser pocket when I put the trousers in the washing machine. Needless to say, the camera did not survive the experience and I've now had to get a new one which is actually better than the old one, but I'd sooner not have had to have the expense of buying it at all. I'll be more careful about checking the pockets in future!

Hi oldsix, i take pretty care of my things, and all things are going safer in my hand but unfortunately when i take my sister's things they all get spoil, like if i catch her clips for few seconds, then they'll turn into two pieces , if i start seeing videos in her mobile, unknowingly it'll fall from my hands, and she start shouting at me, but i couldn't help it, don't know only my sister's things get spoiled in my hands he he he.

Mine was worse. I forgot to take out my cell phone from my pocket and when I put my slacks in the laundry the cell phone went down with it. That was the final destiny of my phone which I have just bought. If it was submerged in the water for a short while I could have saved it by using the hairdryer to dry up the wetness.

One of my co-workers had a similar experence, but his phone didn't come out of the pocket, and the time wasn't long, then he got it out from the laundry,so he still uses it now.

Good morning Oldsix..what a wonderfully worded discussion! Thankfully, I have never lost or mismanaged my "cell-phone", but I must tell you I think my son "has a little black cloud hanging over his head" when it comes to "cell phones!" I don't think a month has gone buy, that he hasn't lost, lost in a puddle of water...put it on the cab of his truck, and drove away with it on it! My goodness...or lost it! I think him, with so many troubles with his, has made me extremely cautious with mine...I have a carrying case that clips on my waist, or on a pocket, that it is fastened inside, so that it doesn't fall out! So far, so good...Thank goodness! A good one here is very expensive, so I cannot afford to lose it! Take care and Cheers!

Mine fell into the sink full of water. It turned off, so i did not turn it back on. I took the battery out, dismantled everything, then i used a hair blower and blew on it for around 30 minutes. It worked fine afterwards.

I didn't find a hairblower in time, and didn't know how to dismantle too much,so I couldn't dry it well and I dumped it.

Hi, Oldsix691418. No. I have never had the same experience before. I hope that I never won't either. I know that I would have panicked if my cell phone had to drop into the water. I would hate the fact that my phone never worked again. I am sorry about what happened to your cell phone.

Several years ago, my husband and I were getting ready to go on a trip in our motor home. I was putting things in the motor home while he was taking care of things outside. I thought the wash basin in the tiny bathroom would be a safe place for our cell phone so that it would not be forgotten. It wasn't long before I heard a loud whoosh. Water began pouring out of the faucet right above the cell phone. I didn't know that my husband had left all faucets inside the motor home wide open when he had winterized it. When he filled the water tank in p-reparation for pour trip, neither of u s thought to close the faucets inside. That cell phone, too, had to be replaced.

No, I never had that experience, ahah! But when I was talking to my friend, he dropped his phone in the toilet while talking to me! I was more shocked that he was in the restroom while I was talking to him. But all I heard when he dropped it was cursing in bubbles.

I must admit that it has never once happened to me, but my 15 year old grandson likes to take his computer into the bathroom when he has to use the toilet. Well, to make a long story short, he had his cell phone connected to the computer as he was charging it, and when he got up to flush it, his phone fell off the computer and landed in the toilet. My daughter said she got rice out and he put in the rise, as I understand, that it will draw out the water. Well, instead of leaving it off and letting it draw out the water, he kept fooling around with it, and it just didn't work like it should. The sad thing of it is, it was a brand new phone. I told him never to do that again, and I don['t think he will. From what my daughter has said, he finally got it working, and I am glad he did, as it is a nice phone,as it is the same one I have. It just goes to show how negligent he was, and it is a hard lesson for him to learn, as his dad said he needs to take responsibility for his actions, and if it didn't work, he would have to work to pay for a new one. Believe me, I think he has leaned his lesson the hard way. Take care, and have a very good day.

I think he might have run it under water after wares, but not really sure about that one. The thing of it is, my daughter is struggling financially, so for her to plunk out $150 for a new one, would have been kind of hard for her to do. Anyway, as I understand it, his phone works perfect now. If it didn't then his dad said he would have to work it off to get a new one, as it was total negligence.

That is so gross. So you mean his cell phone was covered in poo? I don't think I'd want to hold it up to my ear and mouth after that kind of trip. I'd just suck it up and buy a new one.

Haha, really that's a good lesson for him, luckily he got it to work in the end, that's a good news. In fact there are quite a few such careless persons. Two of my workers had their cell phones drop to the old-styled cesspit...lol

One time a few years ago I put my phone on the bathroom sink while I used the sink to wash my hands. I accidentally bumped it and into the water it went. For this reason I try to keep my phone way away from any water substance, because it is too expensive to replace.

No, my cellphone will never be in my pocket because i always have a bag with me, and eveything is kept inside my bag. I don't have the habit of having anything in my pockets too as it makes my jeans or pants look tight and feels uneasy. My bf has the habit of stuffing everything into his pocket, even though he might only has got 3 pockets for 4-5 things.

Sorry that that happened to your phone. Actually that didn't happen to me and I hope that it will not. But it did happen to a friend in his car. He had a cup of soda that he came out of his house with and put it in his middle console. He would of had a better chance with a cup that had a lid from Mcdonald's because then it wouldn't have made it into the liquid. As soon as we pulled up to my house and gather all of our belonging to get out we heard a Pluuucckk! It definitely took a high dive out of his pocket and landed perfectly right into the cup for a refreshing dive. Sure enough his phone wouldn't cut on again and his whole day was ruined. I've never heard so much cursing in my whole entire life but I can really understand why he was upset on top of that he had no insurance on his phone and had to purchase it at full rate and wait for everyone to call him all over again to get his phonebook back almost the same as he had it

Well, I had a similar experience except that my phone fell into the toilet! I could not get it to work after that and had to purchase a new phone too. I was really embarrassed and all my collegues teased me about it for a very long time!

I'm sorry about your phone. I dropped one of my cell phones into a puddle once and it survived. It was one of those huge Nokias that was really sturdy but had no features. I'm glad it survived. I don't think it was completely submerged like yours maybe only 3/4 of the way.
