Hi, No I do not think this is an upset. What simply happened is England out of the race. Upset - if we find proper definition was the match between England and Ireland that Ireland defeated England. Probably that defeat lowed the morale of England and today playing against South Africa they were under a lot of pressure and finally succumbed to it.

Sorry, there I made mistakes with the names of the teams. Where I should have said it South Africa I put as England. Still I do not think SA's defeat was an upset.

Yes, in my consideration it was an upset. Especially after the way England lost to Ireland. It also reinforces my view point that in this world cup, there is very little to choose between the top 5-6 teams and that margin could very much on any given day. I think it was a fantastic win for England. Cheers! Ram

What a World Cup England are producing. From a thrilling tie against India to the shock of losing to Ireland they have now conjured a stunning fightback to beat South Africa by six runs in a gripping contest on a tough pitch in Chennai. They took all ten wickets for 102 through a combination of spin, reverse swing, perseverance and the never-say-die-attitude which is such a trait of this team, with Stuart Broad sealing the victory with two wickets in four balls after Dale Steyn's 31-ball 20 had taken his team close to the winning line.

Hi, I'm South African and it pains me to say this, but SA deserved to lose. The match was ours for the taking and we threw it away. So, no I don't consider it an upset. England kept on fighting and it paid off. Hats off to them.
