Any suggestions on natural foods recipes for cancer patients?

My father has been recently diagnosed to have a cancer. He's getting thinner and doesn't have appetite. After reading articles on how to build the immune system, I tried to make my own recipes for him. Here's one salad dressing recipe I made: 1 clove of garlic finely minced, 1/2 onion bulb, 1/2 mango sliced in tidbits, 4 big red tomatoes sliced in tidbits, apple cider "with the mother", honey, all spices seasoning. I combined this salad dressing with fresh finely sliced lettuce and cucumber. For me, it tasted so delicious; my husband and kids loved it. My father liked it, too, he ate but later he vomited. Maybe he couldn't take the garlic? or I don't know. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to prepare fresh vegies that he can take. Please?

Hi Margoe, I'm so sorry to hear about your father. May I ask what kind of cancer he got? You know what, every time I hear the word cancer, what comes into my mind is always 'carrots'. I've read and heard that carrots are one of the best foods that fights cancer because it is very rich in beta-carotene. A friend told me a story one time about another friend of hers who was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She scheduled to be operated. Days before the operation however, she ate nothing but veggies, mostly carrots, and she did not eat anything that has fat in it. When she went to the doctor again, they were very surprised that the cancer cells in her thyroid were gone! It was really amazing, she didn't have to go to surgery anymore, all because of the carrots. I guess for your father's case, you can introduce his foods little by little. Your salad sounds really delicious but I guess his stomach wasn't able to handle the mixture of so many foods in one. Also, I noticed that there were fruits in your salad. I think it's not a good idea to mix fruits with any other food because fruits are best eaten alone and on an empty stomach. Maybe you can give him a veggie or fruit one at a time, like a piece of apple for example. And then after a few minutes or a few hours, a piece of carrot, etc, etc. Try to observe how his stomach would react. Then, I would suggest not to give him anything fatty food, but I guess fish is okay, just make sure it's not fried. If anything, you can try and look for recipes in the internet or recipe books. I've seen this book one time which talks about herbal medicine. I think it's a very good book. Hope this helps and I hope you all well

Thank you. This is helpful. I tried fresh carrot shake, but he did like it. So I mixed a carrot with chocolate "weight gain" powder formula for adults plus oatmeal. He is taking it now. But chocolate is fatty food, right? So mixing carrot with chocolate drink is not a good formula then.

Energy: 250cal, Protein: 2.5gr, Fat: 19gr (of which saturates: 4gr), Carbohydrate: 6gr, Fibre: 4gr A good friend of mine just passed away due to years of chest (both) cancer. I missed her. She was a beautiful person by heart, a great interior designer, always cheerful, had a golden voice (opera type). But she didn't eat properly and under constant pressure, though never showed it. Cancer diseases are rising all over the world due to unhealthy life style, unhealthy environment, weather extreme, etc. Luckily nowadays there have been significant groundbreaking cancer cures but alternative (non medical) ones. My wife too is developing them (ovarium and chest), still on early stage. But she doesn't like doctors, so she is on homeopathic treatment (she's been in and out of hospital care since a toddler). She takes baking soda every day (Dr. Simoncini: http://www.healingcancernaturally.com/sodium-bicarbonate-treatment.html) and have faith in it. She also takes propolis (natural bee products), very effective. You might also want to check this website telling us that we can cure cancer naturally. It's a breakthrough that medical hates as it's much, much cheaper and effective: http://tinyurl.com/4ed8fty I'll pray and hope for your father's speedy recovery. Oh you can also request distance self healing (free) via REIKI by email. Check the website: http://freedistancehealing.net/healingrequest.html (My wife did that)

I somewhat understand the situation you're in. My mom suffered from cancer too and we opted for natural therapy but she was already in the terminal stage when her ailment was discovered and so the therapy didn't work anymore. However, my mom's fate may not be your dad's. As long as the person is still alive, there is always room for hope so don't stop praying. Try to give him small frequent servings. Raw veggies are energy-packed and initially the body may not tolerate it. In due time, it will so introduce it slowly but consistently. If he cant tolerate solids, you may give him fresh veg and fruit juices. There are affordable juicers in the appliance store. It is also your discretion to try out some natural food supplements that are known to fight cancer. You may use it in conjunction with his chemotherapy. My uncle who also underwent detox starts his day with fresh fruits only. At lunch he has his rice and vegan viand, then at night time, fruits again. IN between those meals, he drinks some fresh juices or just water. Your father is blessed to have you around. And you are blessed to have this opportunity to take care of him.

hello, I have a friend who is also an cancer patient. He is always given every morning a soursop (guyabano) fruit by his doctor. The soursop fruit is keep in the fridge the whole night and then taken out in the morning 30 minutes he has to eat a slice of it (just a small slice or enough to be consume by the patient) The doctor says that the fruit is good for cancer patient (and to everyone,to prevent cancer cells to spread) Sorry to hear about your dads condition. Have a great day

Hi, thanks a lot.. He's taking glucerna as he is also diabetic. Since the doctor says I can give anything to bring back his appetite, I let him take chocolate "weight-gain" powder formula for adults. I blend it with 1 carrot plus two tablespoons of instant oatmeal. This is also my formula just to give him fresh vegie. He can take this. And am looking for other options for a variety of food.

I am sorry to hear about your father, and hope and pray he will overcome this. I hope you can figure out something to keep his food down. Can you consult with his doctor or nurse to see if there is something he can take when he eats so he will not vomit? I don't know if there is anything, but if there is, surely someone who treats cancer patients would know about it. My prayers are with you as well.

Thank you for your prayers. I'm quite scared though, since the doctor says we can give him anything (and to think he has hypertension and he is diabetic). I still opted for health foods.
