Why is it that everyone in South African cricket team is white?

I can't believe that 80% of people in south africa are black.I was thinking that everyone in there were white.But when i heard this i started to wonder why they dont have a single black or brown player except makhaya ntini?

Mainly, I believe, because cricket is an elitist game.

I think more than black you need to look at colored players. For e.g. Tsotsobe is a black player. Hershelle Gibbs is a colored player, so was Paul Adams and Ashwell Prince. Now the other minorities like Muslims are coming into the team for e.g. Hashim Amla and Imran Tahir. So it is wrong to say that everyone in the team is white. Cheers! Ram

There are number of black players in South African team. Petersen, Duminy, Prince are all black may be mixed but that has to happen after so many years of apartheid rule. The cricket in black people has yet to be developed. It has to take time. You don't expect the South African team to be like that of Zimbabwe. They have replaced most of their white players with black and the quality of the game suffered. Infact there was big hue and cry when some black people were inducted in the national side at the cost of talented white players some years back.
