Christ, a man, not a god

Not JUST a man but a man whom God has sent as in God has sent Moses, God sent Apostle Paul, sent John the Baptist, etc..... Christ is the man anointed , given authority to build and head the Church, mediator between God and man, given supper natural powers by the true God, (the Father) who created all things. Christ was created by God when he was conceived by the Holy Spirit. The Holy spirit is not a god but a messenger whom God sends on special missions. God is a spirit whom the eye can't see while Jesus has flesh and blood, went to heaven as man and at present the "man who sits at the right side (hand) of God".
Concluded therefor that the only true God is the Father whom the Israelites worshiped and whom the true church should also worship. We are also commanded by God that all knees should kneel before Jesus but not to "saints" statues and objects or relics; All these is contained in the Bible, a belief that God commands all men to profess.

Jesus was a man, but Jesus was the Word...In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1)
The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us...(John 1:14)
God is the First and the Last. "I, the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he. (Isaiah 4 1:4). Jesus is the first and the last: Jesus said, "Fear not; I am the first and the last. (Revelation 1:17)
Jesus said, "I and my Father are ONE." John 10:30
"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the FLESH, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, BELIEVED ON in the world, RECEIVED UP into glory." ( 1 Timothy 3:16 )
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." By Jesus were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth...all things were created by him, and for him. (Colossians 1:16)
God said, "Let US make man in OUR image." And was He talking to Himself? He was talking to the Word! Scriptures CLEARLY states that the WORD was made FLESH and dwelt among us. In MANY MANY statements Jesus claims his Deity. Scripture also tells us ONLY God can forgive sins, Jesus forgave sins.
Jesus calls us his brothers and sisters, because THAT is who we will become...Jesus, The Word, wanted a family...WE are to be that family..why do you think we were created in THEIR likeness and image? To eventually be a part of the GOD Family. But we must also be like Them in spirit also, BEFORE we can be a part of the family. "All things were made for him, and by him."

you are so right and we have to stop trying to define jesus as the man who walked the earth. He was god before and still is god after coming to suffer for all our sins.We just have to accept this as the truth and believe it because it is.

Most of your account above are true and mentioned in the bible, one thing I can say that yes Jesus was sent by God th Father to save mankind. however bible mentioned that Jesus submitted to God and they become one. Also said God given all the power and authority to Jesus, Jesus will reign for 1000 years, Jesus is God. see you around

True and after a thousand years, jesus will "give up" all authority to God so that everything including jesus will fall under one authority, the Father. jesus and the true God have always been two separate beings and submitting to God doesn't mean being the same nature with God for we also can be submitting ourselves to God which too wouldn't mean that by doing so is to become God ourselves.

Basing my opinions further on the bible, one might argue that being the son of God makes Jesus God also. Many a biblical figures have been called sons and daughter of God but didn't mean that they are God themselves. My opinion suggests that if one believes that Jesus is God it contradicts the teaching that there is only one God....eg.Abraham and his son Isaac are not one in being. They may be one in spirit and in faith but not one individual, as in "I(Jesus)and the Father are one" in administering and caring for the flock (sheep) but not one God. How would a sane person feel if he were addressed "MR. PRESIDENT" if he was just a kitchen boy in the white house? Jesus of Nazareth was a man whose divine authority was clearly proven to you by all miracles and wonders which God performed THROUGH Him" Acts 2:22

Well the Bible says a great many things Jesus (If he existed as there is very little proof that he did.) Also this all depends on which Bible you are reading as some Bibles are different than others for example the Roman Catholics have more books in their Bibles than most other Christian Churches. You also have the Church of Latter Day Saints which believe that God hasn't stopped at Jesus at the deliverance of his message to us through certain saints in the days after Jesus. As I persoally believe that life is a never ending circle and that we have been on this Earth a multitude of times. We are not the Body we are a soul that is living in the body and that we have the ability to rise to a higher plane of existence within our life time.
I am not a Christian as you can tell from my beliefs I am a Nichren Buddhist. coming from a Roman Catholic as well as a Christian background when I am growing up.

Really Name them? Can you? The Romans never recorded the crucifixion of Jesus or the King of the Jews. No evidence of his existence. The Shroud of Torin has been proven to been a creation of fiction a work of Art. Not even created during the same time that Jesus was said to have existed.
So no evidence of him exist and before you say the Bible says he existed so its true then well considering the Bible doesn't have very much in the way of provability you'll kinda have to say with that logic that the whole story in the Lord of the Rings is true.

While there is much to debate, and many different perspectives as there are people...and most is based on faith...even from the non-believer, as their faith is is that there is no God.
The non-believer can no more prove that God doesn't exist any more than a believer can.
islander7...I've provided every single fact that even science itself shot the evolutionary theory in the foot by studying DNA, DNA fossilized for millions of years, and now science is literally freaking out because of their discoveries...yet, you still believe in it...despite the recent scientific discoveries.
I am NOT a religious person, I don't belong to any church nor follow any religion...in fact, I've butted heads with many respected people of many faiths. And I will continue because I do NOT like being degraded because I don't believe the same thing as someone else...I'm a logical, fact-finding thinker..and I also a follower of science.
Just as I proved the DNA and lack of evolution theory, why? Because of DNA itself...but I also know that there ARE historical antagonistic documents, that have NOTHING to gain, nor ANY vested interest, by supporting the existence of Jesus.
I believe in God, I believe in Jesus...and JUST because YOU don't DOES NOT give you more authority nor credibility more than I...it DOES NOT mean you're right and I'm wrong. All it means is we believe differently.
We all have the right to believe what we choose to believe, but there is NO right to criticize nor ostracize another FOR their beliefs.

Hi. But we based our on-going discussion according to the bible and how we interpret it, whether you believe in it's authenticity or not.....just like discussing a story book in school, or a lawyer defending his client according to the laws of the land. Nevertheless you're welcome to the limelight. see you around

I respect what your opinion is, but I just wanted to share mine also. I do believe in the deity of Christ and there are many supporting scriptures in the Word of God that declares Jesus Christ as fully God and fully man.
I will be giving sites on where you can also read it and it is only based on your decision whether you would believe or not because all of us are given free will by God. I do pray that you open your heart and mind regarding this matter.

hi cher913, nice corresponding with you. I still have a lot to respond to, yet I chose you first. We prepare ourselves while we live for we are to face judgment when we die. We were created to serve the Maker just like a furniture made for it's purpose.
