PNoy is doing well enough, considering the circumstances. In order to really root out corruption, the change must come from the inside, i.e., from the rulers down to the governed. The other option? Wipe out all the people and start anew.

Corruption is a culture and it is a culture that is firmly settle in society, not only in government or in people who occupy high positions. To answer your question, I don't believe that a single person, even a president, can ever topple corruption. The man can be immortal and can still struggle with the practice. However, I admire his efforts to make the break. I just don't know if the people will follow and if his successor will also take the mantle that he did. You have to remember that during a campaign, a candidate can promise everything but deliver nothing or just some of the things that he promised. Sweet talking the masses who will vote for them is usually their method to win an election. A candidate does not have the gift of clairvoyant or a crystal ball that going to predict everything for the next 6 years. Everything changes and change can come in many ways. Six years is a long time - too many things will change and others won't go away (read corruption).

Any president in any particular country can stop the corruption, that's for sure. He/She should be an example to all his countrymen, if the president is not stealing and he is mad with the thieves and the country will be on the right track. As they say, "if no corrupt there is no poor", that's true, these words can aplly in all from of government. The leader must be a God-fearing person. As simple as that.....

It is really too early to tell. But I think Pnoy has his plans all laid out. I think he is doing a great job and one by one he is toppling down the corrupt officials. I really wish this will continue and may he live up w/ his promises.

I don't think that the P-Noy administration can topple corruption in the Philippines but I do believe that it has the power to at least lessen it. Let's face it. Corruption runs through the veins of our rotten system and in a developing country like ours, social dialysis hasn't been fully developed. With a president coming from a politically respected and influential family, I do believe that our country still has hope. I guess all we need to do is stop criticizing and ask what we can do for our country because this country is not only our president's responsibility but also ours.

PNoy already started by being an example of a clean government, and then using the powers vested to him by the Filipino people to pursue those who betrayed Filipinos' trusts by stealing from the nation's treasury. The ongoing investigations of AFP generals accused of stealing soldiers' funds should benefit not only the brave fighting Filipino soldiers but all of us civilians. We must set the boat right before we can dream of upgrading it to become faster and catch up those of our neighbors, and this is what PNoy is doing.
