I definitely think it makes it better for watching the matches. Previously you could get the points only on your serve. In a lot of matches, it used to drag with service changing on the same score multiple times. Also the matches finish quite sooner now as you can earn points on the opponents' serve as well.
Cheers!

every mistake made is a point to the opponent.
Just the same as table tennis as well as vollyball.

Rostow,
I would take that the changes in the scoring does have an effect on the game being played today.
First off, competition will be much keener since one does not need to have the right of serve to score a point. Previously, it is just excruciating to watch service exchanges and competitors will just be put off with the scoring especially when it is after a long rally of play.
Also, I am sure you can see that the players are more raring and that the play is much more on the attack than defensive in both the singles and doubles competitions. So overall, I believe the changes does bring about quality to the game for all.

I think its much better now because a game ends much faster and it really keeps the pressure on throughout the game for both sides.
Also it does help to finish the game soon to allow to play with other people which is a problem when there is just 1-2 courts and like 10people in line.
