I know some people accept everybody, even completely random people that request to be friends. But i don'y understand why they do this particularly, is it weird or not?
Personally I accept most people but I have rejected a few completely random people.

Well before I do that, I used to have myspace and friendster accounts but I already deleted my accounts from there. Actually, I realized that it's not making any sense accepting people whom you don't know especially the one who wants their friend request to get accepted and later on by the time you will accept them they will never talk to you. Right now I don't accept them not unless if I know them personally or someone I got acquainted online.

Lol I know I have accepted your friend request, but I was talking about facebook though. Here on mylot all my friends that were on my lists are people that I didn't knew personally or even virtually.

Hi. Rostow. Welcome to myLot! No. I don't accept all of my friend requests at Facebook. I have rejected a few. If I am not sure who you are, I will not accept you. I will send an email to this person. And I also check to see if this person is friends with someone else that is my friend. That is the main reason why many people have so many friends on Facebook, it is because they add just about everyone. They want their friends amount to increase so that others will like them. Which is in my opinion, dumb.

I used to accept any friend request. Then my FB account was hacked by a j*rk..He stole my poker chips and changed my password. After, few days I got my FB account back, I knew who did it, then I delete those who I don't know so well, and now, stop to accept any friend request.

I think for websites like facebook, where everything's more "personal," I only accept the friend requests of people I know in real life. I wouldn't reveal that much of my personal life to someone that I had simply talked to for a little bit over the internet, unless I really got to know them well.

If the people are of any interest, I will accept. Also if i 'feel' we have enough in common. So.....my friendslist is not that long

When it comes to facebook, no I don't. I only accept people that I've known at one time or another (i.e. old friends and neighbors), family members, or people that I went to school with. Everyone else I tend to reject.
Happy mylotting!

Hi Rostow,
We have had similar kind of discussion before too.
Now to answer your query I must say that except two I have not rejected any friends request. Right away I have 621. And I know 80 percent of them are inactive now.
The two rejected had a cause. When they sent me FR they had a zero in their account, I mean in their response box. neither posted discussion of their own not responded to others either. I left them for more than two months to see if at all they participate in the mylot activities. When there was no change I decided to not to approve them.

I limit all the friends that I accept to those that I am really friends with. Even the people that I know but am not really close with I don't really accept their requests. I just like to have that sense of privacy with my profile, and I just want to really limit it to my friends that's why I don't have a lot of friends on my list.

yes..earlier i used to do..that but ppl who are adding everyone won't respond at all to the post on their profiles or the wall and they use their profile to get traffic to their blog and make money out of that. Now i am not encouraging ...out of the social security out on the facebook today and we need to be more careful whil adding the unknown ppl...i suggest to everyone.

No. I don't accept all friend requests. I only accept those from the people I personally know.
Is it weird to accept all requests from random people? Not, if you would actually would like to talk to them and not just for the sake of having big numbers on your list. (:

NO i don't. All the people on my facebook are my friends or family or someone I know. I don't have any strangers there, I don't accept their requests.

i accepts everyone on facebook and never mind if i know them or not
i usually just ignore those who have a habit of uploading prone photos or delete them
but if someone strange want to talk i am always there and never reject them
maybe they would want to share something or would have seen me somewhere and wants to be my friends who know i accept them and if they are spammer and all i delete them from my friends list

I accept friend requests in case they provide me with a good reason for accepting them. In case I accept someone, he or she will be in a friends list that has barely any access to my data to protect my safety and after a certain timespan I will "upgrade" them to the ordinary friends.

if i can accommodate them why not. however, i could only accept as much as i handle as i'd rather not disppoint someone for saying yes and not doing it afterward. i say "certainly", "my pleasure" or "definitely" when i mean yes; "i will try my best", or "i'll see what i can do" when I mean no. i've learned that a "NO" answer is a total disappointment and blunt.

No. I don't really accept every single friend request that I receive in my Facebook account. I will first take a look in their profile and if I see some mutual friends which I know personally then I will just accept.. It really depends, actually! I also know some fellas who accept every single friend request randomly.

I only accept people I know or have some mutual friends in common. If I don't know them and accept, I will check out their profile and then decide whether to keep them or delete them. It is hard to keep your privacy online nowadays and I try to maintain mine. I never add people I don't know / who my friends don't know... that is unsafe in my opinion.
