Have you heard of the experience old folks can tell you whether your baby in your stomach is a baby girl or baby boy just by looking at the mother? There are quite a number of method that I have heard of, one of it is to see if the mother's stomach is sharp in front, then it will be a baby boy where as if the stomach is round and expand to the side then it will be a baby girl. Some can even just look at the nose and tell you the gender of the baby, where if the mother have a big nose will be a baby girl and vice versa.
What is your manual way to determine the baby gender before it is born? What is your view and what is your method to determine a baby gender without using the ultrasound?

Well according to my mom when you already have a child you can determine your next baby by looking at his/her nipples. When it is pointed definitely it's a girl, if it's horizontal line then it's a boy. During pregnancy I used to wear sexy dresses and always wear make up. They find me blooming and they were never wrong in guessing that it's a GIRL :)

If a baby is conceived around the time of ovulation it is likely to be a baby boy. If the baby is conceived in the days after the period but not close to the day of ovulation it is likely it is likely to be a baby girl. The mother's diet has a part of play in which ph level she will have when she actually conceives her baby. I have heard that old wives tale that says if the bump is sharp in the front she is having a baby boy and if the bump is round and expands to the side she is having a baby girl. I know of an activity in which the lady lays down with a needle on the end of a piece of cotton over her bump. If the needle moves in an up and down manner then she is having a baby boy and if the needle moves in a circle manner she is having a baby girl. I had a gender scan at a private clinic at 16 weeks pregnancy and this is the most accurate way to determine a baby's gender before birth. Though I know two ladies that were told at ultrasound and yet they got a surprise at the birth. The scanner had got it wrong.

The time of conceive is taking part in determine the baby gender like what you said, and not only the mother's diet but the father's diet also count to determine the baby's gender.
By looking at the bump shape is quite accurate that most of the people know about it. Of course using the ultrasound is a proven methods that can tell you the exact gender of your baby, but if you baby is "shy", there will be no change for you to see their gender at all, I have got a friend who have went for ultrasound and she was really eager to know either her baby is a boy or girl but after a few time, she still did not get to see, because each time the baby either is facing at the back or the part is hiding behind the baby's hands. I also have a friend who bought many boys' clothes after she knew that her baby is a boy through ultrasound but she was surprise that she actually had a baby girl, and she have to give away all the boy's clothes to someone else who have got a baby boy.

Well, a friend told me that too, your right on those determination. Another is if you'll see the enlargement of the feet, and enlargement of the body like a very fat one, then its a boy. If a mom is having a girl you can just see that they're body is like the same, they just gained weight a little but never gets too fat like having a baby boy.

Really? I have got a friend who became so fat when she pregnant, and she have got a baby girl. I think it depend on individual when it came to diet, some people will eat a lot when they are pregnant and some don't, so for those who eat a lot, she will definitely became fat.

I heard about it before.
Normally, the stomach of a pregnant woman will be very large if she has a baby boy.
for baby girl, it will be smaller.
Once a woman is pregnant, the gender of the baby has be fitted.
It is too late for someone to regret or to decide if he or she wants to have a baby boy or girl.
The most concern to me is before a woman pregnant.never be so particular i
ha! ha! ha!
The date the woman starts pregnant is the most critical to decide a baby boy or baby girl.
For me, never be so particular in baby boy or baby girl.
I can wish to have a baby boy or a baby girl.
But it is not a must to have a baby boy or baby girl.

In those old day, people tend to like baby boy than baby girl where they need more male to help them in the farm. And most of the old people will like to have a baby boy in their family is because they want to make sure their family genes is continuing. And I believe that is why people like to predict whether the baby is a boy or girl, thus came out so many methods that they can use to predict the baby's gender before they are born.

I've only heard of the saying about sharp and round belly, but don't know that of the nose thing, which is very interesting. Haven't had a baby yet, but I'm expecting to have one next year. I'll try to observe some signs in the due time. :)

Look at the mother. If she look prettier and glowing, it might be girl. And if she looks dull and taking less care about her appearance then it might be boys.

Why to talk of the methods to know the gender of the unborn? Why do you want to know? Can not you wait till the moment the baby is born?
Or you are a gender biased that if the baby in side the womb of the mother is a girl you would not let her be born? I do not think you are an illiterate and act as other tell you? If you know the gender of the baby yet unborn where would be your joy and excitement.
I know you are not going to do anything like this. My words are just a reminder to one and all.

hello yspmyl,
Olds says that,if woman's neck/armpit becomes dark during pregnancy...they say it's a boy.
And if a pregnant woman's face is glowing/looking fresh and blooming,it's a girl.
I am not sure of these, but sometimes they're right with their predictions

When my belly was still 3months I feel like I'm having a baby girl and my in-laws says I look much prettier and said it might be a girl. And I heard from my aunt that if my skin look darker my baby is a boy but then I observe that my skin is whiter than before. When I reached my 5th month, my Dr. said that I should have an ultra sound coz it seems like my belly is big for its month. When I check my ultra-sound results, its a boy. But now I feel like I'm really having a baby boy. I have a round and expanded belly. I'm on my way to 8th months now but my belly looks small when I stand up. I really dunno if its a girl or boy. And one day the fortune teller of my in-law came to visit and saw my belly, and said its a boy. Hope it really is a boy =)
We still don't have a name yet and baby things coz we arent sure what the gender is. Dr. also said to my ultra-sound result that its not really accurate its a 50-50 chance that it may be a boy or a girl. I'll just wait for my due date to see if its really a boy or a girl. haha

Hi yspmyl. This is something even I do not understand till now and have not seen people having much success with all the predictions. I had a big stomach and the shape of a watermelon. And I had a daughter who weighed almost 4 kgs. I have just heard that if the stomach looks big, then it is a girl and if it is a little small, it is a boy. It was true for me and my sister, because both of us had big stomachs. But I do not know how far this is true.

This is pretty interesting! In my part, an ultrasound at 5 months would determine the gender of the baby. Like you, I have learned from old folks that how a mother looks like when she conceives reflects the gender of the baby. If she's glowing, it might be a girl or a boy on the counterpart. It's funny but sometimes, they got the correct gender! In the sharing we had in Nursing school, if the baby is made on the mother's peak of ovulation, it might be a 99% boy. Another thing i would like to add, i heard a doctor told us that if in the making of the baby is planned, it would be a girl. If unplanned, it would be a boy. She did, the doctor was able to guess that it was a boy whom one of my colleagues conceived. It was unplanned and funny to know because we were really waiting for the confirmation on her 5th month and it does!
