What am I supposed to do?

For the past couple of weeks my cat has not been acting like herself. She has been pooping outside of her litterbox for years, always in the same place. Now, she just lets it fly. She has also started peeing on my bed or on me, if I am sitting on the bed. I am so frustrated and angry! I am tempted to open the front door and shoo her out, that is how angry I am at the moment. We took her to the vet and spent $500. They couldn't find a thing wrong with her. I hate thinking that everytime she snuggles up, she is going to pee on me. What am I supposed to do?

sounds very much like a urinary tract infection but they can be hard to find sometimes

She had blood work, urinalysis and stool culture at the vet. They didn't find anything wrong with her.

If i was you i would put a towel on your lap and get some of that deterant cat wee stuff that you can get to stop a cat peeing in certain places.I would have thought if it was peeing and/ or pooping then it would have an infection that could be easily treated with anti biotics from the vet.Try going back to the vet and seeing if there is anything else it can be.

We took her for a second opinion from another vet. He did an xray to rule out a kidney stone. He took more urine. The results were negative. He is suggesting a topical Antidepressant called Elavil. It costs $60. I just don't know what to do anymore. I am seriously frustrated and fed up. I wonder if sending her to a boarding kennel where they have her in a cage with her litterbox would work. Could she get re-potty-trained? I tried a cage here, but the noise was horrendous and I just couldn't make her stay in there.

Poor kitty. Or maybe I should say poor wallet! Ouch, that is expensive. My friend's parrot is always pooping on people. Pets can be cute but they are also often VERY annoying. Good luck with your cat.

Why don't you take her to another vet that is not so expensive and get a second opinion? Just and ideal?
