So, are you a smoker, or a heavy smoker. A nice suggestion here, quit it if you are living in the United States. You might not be able to afford it if you don't make that much money, or you meet ends meet from month to month. I have a couple of friends who are smokers, I told them if they can't afford a pack, they should learn to quit it, even it is a painful choice. According to local newspaper, the tax hike on cigarettes might be 80%. For a healthier life, and saving some money, quit it as an optimal choice.

I am not a smoker but i see friends who are struggling with the costs rising all the time, all because of what smoking does to your body but it amazes me that nothing is ever said what meat does to the body, a friend of mine has a son who got a job in the x-ray dept of a major hospital he was a big meat eater, he lasted 2 days of seeing what meat does and hasn't eaten meat since...

I am a really heavy smoker.I do not live in the us but it appears it would be a nice idea to quit smoking. Not only because of the health issues.I live in
Bulgaria - i dont know if you have ever heard of it.But since Christmas there was a new law accepted that no smoking is allowed in public places. So now you can not smoke in a large amount of cafes. Its really inconvinient since it is winter and its very cold outside. The price of the ciggarettes goes up and up and it now seems almost ridiculous to give that amount of money about such a stupid thing. But the truth is the habbit is too strong and I dont think there will be many serious smokers who will quit because of the price.

Yes Kingparker as we don´t like them to smoke, because it´s not healthy to anybody, government is forced to raise their tax. I am not laughing. I´m talking seriously, smoking is not good for their health, and if the tax take money of their pockets, smokers will be forced to stop smoking. That will be the best for them. Blessings!... Dainy

I am sure many will have no choice but to stop, but then there will be the many that will continue to smoke. Like everything in life it depends on how much they want it.

here in the philippines, it is called sin tax.. for me its just fine since they can afford to smoke inspite of alot of expenses needed to prioritize for sure smokers will get use to it & if its their addiction already good for them to mellow down their stick for the day
